    Re: LG WM1485FHD drum leak

the stability kit was a bit of a joke to be honest, a series of different coloured clips to secure the front panel/lid better

the only other one involved a different shaped weight, but im sure youd have noticed that previously to be fair

Re: How long should bearings last?

as opposed to quality merloni stuff?

honestly, u admit u flog it, then slag it off

lg stuff is some of the best stuff around

the unfortunate part is that people want cheap and because of nasty imports(ie merloni) thats what people are getting

lg machines started off quite expensive, and were found to be sturdy and reliable, but they had to do something, basically because the machines werent selling, hence introducing cheaper components leading to cheaper retail prices

be fair to the manufacturer, look at the bigger picture…. u ever wondered why miele are the price they are? or why a lot of the independents gathered together and came up with the ise? (admittedly ive never come across ise yet, but ive heard theyre built on experience, not price, and that they are reliable)

go and buy an indesit, or a hotpoint…. and while your down the shop, we’ll open a thread just for you, cos believe me, youll be singing lg’s praises when you watch one of merlonis babies jump all over your kitchen, flood you out and explode!

when will people realise that they are at most times, their own worst enemy, quote – “i paid £150 for that and its only lasted 2 years”

just read the posts about hotpoint, and hopefully u’ll see my point

    hope this helps someone, somewhere

    is the clock dead?

reason im askin – ive seen a few of these, and usually it can be clipped back together, but that only applies if its still lit up

ive also seen em where they go off, and its the thermal fuse from the terminal block to the selector – thats really common

    Re: hotpoint FFA70 fridge freezer

    unfortunately yes

like i said, if uve put fuse in and it doesnt work, it’ll be the pcb

did u leave it a few hours after the fuse was changed?

    Re: hotpoint FFA70 fridge freezer

grr. have u tried a fuse? it might work

if that dosnt work, then it might well have blown the pcb

but id just put a fuse in it and see if it starts up first (minus the light of course)

im not sure a hospital would buy an indesit or beko to wash their sheets, would you?

    different ball game

take it as it is, people dont need hot fill any more, and thats fact, whether we like it or not its been taken out of our hands, we’ll just have to live with it

good pointr600, itll probably end up needing the thermal fuse too

    but, time will tell

sometimes it works , others it doesnt,

    thats why were here

Re: Beko machine with Invensys timer board

to be fair, hot fills just arent practical and never where

    the scenrio?

a 6o degree wash, taking the water from the tank/drawn from combi

now, cos were soft here, we have both the heating and the water on full, well over the 60 degrees the machine needs

    so wot happens?

does it take water thats far too hot, and will surely ruin your clothes?
or does it take just cold and heat it to the right temp, taking away any possibilty of customer error?

ive had people throw bags of ruined clothes at me, because, they, as consumers thinks it right to run hot water to their machine well over the wash temp

things have changed…. if you were to put a hot fill on , say one of those QUALITY indesits (and ive seen this, btw) the thermistor would sense his within 4 seconds, lock the machine out and just wouldnt work!

not all machines work badly , the basic principal is fantastic.. reduced energy, water consumption, cleaner clothes, quieter spins
its the manufacturing process that lets them down, cheap nasty badly built components, built badly because the consumer wants CHEAP

the technologies fine, just people wont pay for it, plain and simple

things like miele prove the point – theyre the price they are because miele have set out there stall – well built machines at prices to match

u’ll never convince the public that its their own fault theyre suffering!!

finally… a quote… a well used one.. most of us will have heard it in the field

” i bought this machine for £150 CASH and its broke down , and its only 4 yrs old – i want my money back “

say no more, this isnt a rant, just fact

youve obviously never fitted the wire hook band

theres 2 door seals, ones wire and hook, ones a spring

the wire and hook idea is a pain in the ass, i usually just fit summink like a zanussi spring, that normally works
