hmm, itll be summink to do with the heater

1st thing is to check theres no water in the fan chamber at the back, if there is , drain it and check the float switch

if not then check theres not summink like a bra wire stuck to the heater, they often get pulled through the holes in th back of the drum

further to that, the heater will be faulty

    UNPLUG if your to investigate

p.s the fan chamber is on the back of the machine, youll see a banjo shaped cover, with loads of srews around it

well, you could always try cleaning the blue link ribbon between the 2, or the connections on the board, but more often its the main board to be honest, especially if your door lock is cycling

please, power off if ur looking… safety first

Re: Hotpoint VTD00 Non stop timer

    grrrr

id go and have a look 1st

the live wire for the timer motor is pretty tight on those, and have been known to pull off enuff to not make contact when the machine gets warm.
dont be surprised if the timers faulty again, theyre always doin that , especially if its the one that screws to the clip on plate

thats why they changed it to the one that screws directly to the fascia, and i dont think theyre interchangeable
oh, and thats the product code not the serial number

    and there start your problems

unless your an expert at reading binary code, its damned hard to come to a conclusion

most experts, including zanussi themselves struggle with that model

i have a digital displayboard i plug in to tell me the fault

id call an expert to be honest, i wouldnt start guessin

hmmm, well, some ovens dont even have a clock on, and theyre ok

occassionally, customers are happy to leave them like that (bypassed) as long as the conections are tight, and insulated well ( and thats not a comment on your husbands repair skills, it just makes sense, safety wise) , since most people dont use the timer anyway

    hope this helps

    Re: Hotpoint condenser dryer ctd00p

the cooling fan on those machines are so bad, merloni have introduced a kit to cure it

You’ll probably find the fan had warped, and the capacitor did its usual trick of not starting the motor, and of course the heater tripped out

All supplied in the kit ( motor, cooling fan, cap)

In fact, to be honest the new fans arent a great deal better, other than being keyed on the shaft, yet they’re still breaking)

The best place for any merloni drier is the tip, but , remember, they’re helping us to keep our jobs!

    the relay/pcb is faulty

dependant on model, itll be a relay or a pcb…
