    i ALWAYS remove the filter

    works so much better, and the toc never trips again

    and there goes another thread, turned into ‘lets slag the comet engineer off’

    im getting tired of it, its horrible.. its a damned hard world out there, customers are becoming more difficult and the products less serviceable

    im a comet engineer, and i will say that all my colleagues are highly trained, multi skilled and very knowledgeable

    they are also my friends

    if anyone wants to start a ‘lets slag comet off’ thread.. feel free, but be warned it will get messy

    were all in the same job, and we all need each other
    a lot of you on here i hold in high regard, but its starting to wear thin

    check the wires arent off the ntc.. seen quite a few do that…

    other than that , megger the heater , then its the pcb im afraid

    take the condenser out, put your arm in and feel for the hole, remove whatever is blocking it

    the doors probably warped

    if you open the door, theres a pin at the 12 oclock position, and that operates the switch

    i bend the door a little so the pin is nearer the switch

    that normally does it

    itll be the fluff filter

    remove it and snip the wire to the valve.

    problem solved

    and will help your statory rights

    fit for purpose and all the usual nonsense people use

    ooppss yes it is….

    need to have a gas safe guy do it, clocks are around £40 i think
    pluss fitting
