    Hi Quickwash,

The machine is for VERY heavy domestic use, about 20 loads a week, but has been known to be nearer 30 on occasion. You can open the door on the Miele providing the water temperature is below 55oC IIRC.

    No Jim, all true. πŸ˜‰

There was one fault with the ISE she could not live with, there is no stainless steel version made. 😯 She knew what she wanted and would not be told other wise, it is a superb machine though.

    Morning Jim πŸ˜€

Yep over Β£3000, but as she washes so much a domestic will not cope, plus the manufactureres will void her warranty as they class it as commercial use.
You should not have to buy a commercial for domestic use, but machines are not built as well as they used to be either, bar Asko and Miele.

She got a 12 month P and L gaurantee with it Quickwash.

I can confirm Miele machines are almost silent on spin. However it may not always be the case as surroundings can have a big effect.

My Mum has just bought a Miele Little Giant PW6065 Plus (she needed a serious work horse) and when washing all you can hear is the clothes moving in the water and when spinning the most noise comes from the pump, that is really saying something. However it is sat in her kitchen under a worktop on a carpet tiled floor so I would have thought that would make it quieter than say if it was on ceramic tiles in the middle of a room. It is quieter than my 17 year old Bosch, and trust me that is quiet!

The only way to get a duvet that size clean is to take it to a proper laundrette. No domestic machine will do it properly regardless of the marketing hype you see.

The so called 11kg machines are not really that anyway as most manufacturers cheat the numbers try to get the drum capacity in litres as that is more accurate but some still cheat. The Koreans just lie.

The thing is my local laundrette uses an IPSO, the drum doesn’t look that big and when the duvet is eventually rammed in there is not room for the duvet to move around – just fills the drum half full of water and away to go, probably the reason they never come out clean. To be totally honest the drum looks no bigger than the 9-10KG jobbies knocking around at the mo 😯

Ipso come in many load capacities, your laundrette will have one of the smaller ones.

Re: What washing machine – help me decide……

For dealing with this sort of thing I would recommend Ipso, fully commercial and industrial washers, thay have a dump valve on certain machines also.

My parents are looking for a new machine also for home use and are looking towards a JLA 5 or 6 (Schulthess built) or anything that would fit the gap in the kitchen. :rolls:

Hey Oliver! Henry IS Numatic, HENRY has HEPA

Heaven help the poor publican cleaning out his fire grate in the morning. Or the hard grafting chimney sweep that would risk breathing in such harmful pollutants without such invaluable protection from good old HENRY…eh? πŸ˜‰

    Hi Martin,

Henry has Hepaflo dust bags, it has not got HEPA filtration. πŸ˜‰

The Hepaflo bags far more effective than any paper bag, even the good ones, but no Henry has HEPA, there is a microfiltration model called funnily enough Henry Micro, but it has a static charged filter, it is very good but still not strong enough for this type of useage.

Oh aye and I DO know who makes Henrys, I have one me self you know! πŸ˜†

    Re: Vacuum for woodburner ash

    Hi,

Sorry everybody but a bagged vac will not do, this is a specialist job πŸ˜‰ . For this task, especially if there is alot of ash to deal with you would need a special micro-filter/type H hazadous dust vac. Numatic make both.

There are two reasons for this, the filtration system is not strong enough to hold back such a large quantity of dust, which just blows out of the machines exhaust around your room and straight in to your lungs and secondly the machines motor may be damaged by dust getting into the workings.

    Type H vacuum cleaner:

    Micro-filter vacuum cleaner:
    http://www.numatic.co.uk/products4.aspx?id=261

Both these machines use the standard Numatic filtration (which is excellent BTW) and also on top of that have a HEPA (High Efficiency Particle Arrester) filter to protect the motor and the air you are breathing.

    Hi Quickwash,

Personally I have had both double and single ovens and have never had a preference. I only use one cavity anyway, even at Christmas etc.

I would have though it depends on YOUR own needs, what do you have now? What do you cook? For how many? How often? At the end of the day it is something only you can decide as only you know how you cook. πŸ˜‰

    Fully agree with Dave. :rolls:

When you track inflation the ISE10 or a high end Miele they are not expensive at all, infact looking at wages they are bargains.
