Re: HOTPOINT WMA36s – door lock light flashing – UPDATE

hi, please also check all the wiring to the motor, often rubbed/worn wires (especially by the lower concrete weight) in the loom to the motor will be the cause of the module blowing, or worn motor/brushes, the door lock light is just the outcome of a blown board, if you are unsure you can get it fixed by hotpoint for £99 including all parts and labour,

first you need to find out if it has blown the board, plug out first of course, drawer out, 4 screws, panel off & visually check the board

yeah, i cant personally see any real problems if your in the trade and know what your doing, after all there is still a safety cut out mounted on it, but would not advise in the public forums to go changing the spec of a machine,

hi, these models can suffer from sensor failure, (foamed in, not replaceable) can be overcome by fitting a timed module C00262537

drilled out stat? he should be the one drilled out!, when i checked with hotpoint technical i was told in no uncertain terms, do not change a plastic type to metal, if any of you have and it seems ok then i guess thats them proved wrong (not hard i know) but the main reasons seemed to be eeproms set up for different temps, plus the metal fan assy is meant to be used with a flushing valve, which was deleted on the version 2, oh so complicated!, all it needed was a keyed shaft on the fan motor!,

hi,did you change from plastic to metal or just the newer plastic one? its not advised to change from the plastic fan type to the metal fan set up, as the eeprom programmes are different for the 2 types,

if its identical then no problem, just that some of the replacements also involved changes to the wiring & water valves too,

as for the re-programming, it will depend which one you are taking off & which one you are fitting, there are 4 different variants for your model,

the noise was the fan catching on ice, probably now jammed, so no air getting blown up into the fridge, a 24hr defrost should clear any ice build up,

hi, if you just sanded down the fan blade the chances are that that is where the problem is, they dont foul on the fluff, but slip down the motor shaft enough to catch on the base, once it catches the stat will fail, i have never yet seen a metal fan come loose, but you cannot fit that to a machine that has a plastic one, due to changes in several other parts plus the new parts would also require the module to be re-programmed, best bet would be a new fan blade kit & prob also worth changing the thermistor as helo mentioned, ( fan kit it C00194936 includes fan blade & new fixings)

Re: Ariston AWD 12 water leak

no seals in there, just clips together, as before, the water should not reach that high, so no need for seal, you could open it up & see if there is a split/blockage anywhere, or jut lower the water pressure coming in if its that strong
