ok, enjoy that £135 fridge freezer, sure it will be a cracking machine!, the thing is if you spent £100 on the one you have it will outlast the £135 new one for sure

always seems odd, some people go food shopping and avoid the stripey value products cause its clearly rubbish, then go next door and buy a machine for under £200 and complain when it fails in the first year!

Re: Hotpoint Mistral…. different diagnosis ?

well if the fridge temp is showing too high and the fan is still not running, then the baffle position should make no difference (if the baffle was stuck shut then the fan would still be trying to pump air up to the fridge), so it sounds like either a faulty fan, (it may work a few seconds then fail) or no power to the fan,but module failures on these are very very rare,

the thermistor in the fridge senses the fridge temp and then tells the module if the baffle and fan needs to be opened and run to cool the fridge

it is against the law, so if a parent is of the type to leave them, (i’ve called before & the kids under 10), then you know the type your dealing with, would you leave your child at home to let a stranger in?? i know i wouldnt!

hi, you say the baffle does not close, why do you want it to?, what made you look at it, ie whats the fault?

Re: Hotpoint Mistral…. different diagnosis ?

hi, just going back to your first post, the door switch SHOULD make a difference to the freezer fan, the fan should only run with the fridge door shut!, if you can open the fridge door and the fan continues to run there could be a problem there somewhere, or if the fridge door has dropped a little it may not be allowing the fan to run
