    Re: Partfinder II Display

    It works. 8) 😀

The file that Flyman sent me was kosher but it had two important elements missing, the shortcut file and the installation instructions. This evening I received an e-mail from Chris Fray at jvf software. This included the full fix including desktop shortcut and installation instructions. It worked a treat.

If anyone wants it I have the full fix plus instructions. This will only work for version 7 of Partfinder, some alterations are in place for version 8.

Re: INDESIT W16 Washer Fault code F12

F12 is supposed to signify a ‘communications’ error. One PCB is not talking to the other. Could be bad connections disturbed during recent repair, wiring faults or failure of either PCB. Or it could just be due to the fact that these machines are amongst the most unreliable on the market at this present time. :rolls:

Please remove the mains plug if you intend to investigate.

NB. W16 is not recognised on my list, although, W161UK is, but that does not have a digital display, are you in the UK?

If the front duct that the fluff filter slots into is metal, the only long term repair for this machine is a drum & duct kit. The whole sheebang was completely modified, it now has a plastic duct at the front, new drum, stats, fan, back plate, seals etc, etc. The conversion kit contains all the parts but costs around £50.00 plus vat. If as you say the your drum front has been rubbing metal on metal then replacing the seals and bearings will be a waste of time.

Part number of kit is 1702495, although I would strongly advise fitting by someone with the required experience.

This one is not bad. 😉 http://www.iseappliances.co.uk/

Mid range Bosch is good, upper priced Whirpool & Zanussi OK. Meile is the cream but it costs.

Better to spend £350 to £400 upwards for something that will last 10 to 15 years than £200 on one that you will be scrapping every two or three years.

Lots of useful info here. http://tinyurl.com/zez8h

The modules on these and the Indesit machines are very susceptible to dampness, standing outside, no matter how well covered is not the best way to look after a machine. Have you given the module the Alex Ferguson treatment. 😉 😆

Just don’t buy any parts of them, tried to charge me £35.00 for a Zanussi washer door lock a couple of years ago. I needed one urgently, but not that urgently. :rolls:

Which is almost always caused by moisture getting onto the element, the cause of which has to be investigated and eliminated.

Re: Hotpoint Aquarius DWF30 – how to change door hinges ????

When you say ‘hinge’ do you mean you have damaged the metal hinges or does the door just flop down? The door hinge has four parts, upper & lower hinge, spring and a tensioning cord/roller. This is a Bosch produced machine and some of the hinge parts are very expensive, lower hinge £25 + vat, upper hinge £22.50 + vat, tension roller £12.00 + vat etc, the ‘tamperproof’ screws are in fact torx screws, a driver or bit for these is widely available at any DIY chain.
In view of the various parts in this hinge set up it may be a good idea to see if we have someone in your area who can help, you may end up ordering parts that you do not need. Try the link at the bottom of this post. Plug out if you open it up.

    Re: Neff oven door

Not the most sensible design though, my Hotpoint built in is glued at the bottom but the handle along the top is screwed through the glass so there is no strain on the adhesive joint whatsoever on my ‘pull down ‘ door.

Thanks for that Jim, just need to run a few tests on it first, ZoneAlarm Pro has flagged it as suspicious, Command AV has given it a clean bill of health though. It contains a Zip file that has a .LNK file inside it. The .LNK file is known to be very easily infected/corrupted so I will tread warily, might wait until the guinea pig you sent a copy to has had a go. 😉 😆
