You also need to watch out for the very sharp edges and be sure to remove the mains plug at all times when your fingers are inside.

One of the biggest problems I get with machines installed in similar places is early door seal failure due to ultra violet light damage.

    Re: HooverAM110/01 door latch

Received a 92483148 spring today, it is a spring but it is definately not a door latch spring. It is a very fine thin coiled spring with hooks at either end, just under 2 inches long.

If this part is available from Connect as a complete kit why does the one from GIAS that purports to include the spring not do so. 👿

Re: Proline TDC7A condenser drier bearing conversion

Felt is only a seal, the conversion uses the old style Creda bearing pads, you know the ones that hardly ever failed, 😉

That kit should come with new seal & four of the bearing pads plus drum shaft. Give yourself a bit of room, remove both side panels, 30 minutes should be all that is needed, fairly straighforward. If you can find a couple of suitable washers it is a good idea to put a couple between the rear of the drum and back panel to push the drum forward a little, sometimes these are included in the kit but not always.

Worth checking just how much damage has been done to the duct, on the last one I did I had to replace the duct due to the drum slipping off the pulleys and wearing away the duct.

Had the odd white holders fail recently but not in sufficient numbers to cause concern or make me fall back on 161460’s. Only use those on very old, lightly used machines.

It is often difficult to know who actually makes what these days, A large number of ‘well known’ household names are now just rebadged appliances, mainly from Italy but a few oriental disasters creeping onto the market as well. 😥

I have often replaced the bearing alone on these. Not sure of bearing size but you should be able to read it from the old bearing, I think it is a ZZ type. Getting the circlip out can be a bit of a pain sometimes.

151203 is still listed on Partfinder but at over £40 ex vat it makes the bearing a very attractive alternative.

It would be a big help if you gave us the model & serial number and more importantly the reason you feel you need to do this.

Stats at the back, small panel, you can test them with the correct electrical test equipment for continuity.

Counting from the left which number of neon is on, 1st, 2nd etc ?

If it is neon 1, then you have a heater relay problem. If you do a forum search for “8 flashes” you will find plenty of information on what can be a very difficult fault to resolve. Look at any posts that relate to Hotpoint/Indesit/Ariston. 😥

I would suggest you click the link in my sig or the Red Toolbox to see if we have someone who can help.

Plug out if you intend to go inside please.

In fact 3 things are wrong with, you forgot to add that it is really an Indesit. 😥

To be honest your faults do suggest that an experienced engineer would be your best option.

Also be sure to keep the condensor clean & clear. A little more difficult on these later machines due to the way the front part of the condensor is constructed. A pressure hose in the back garden is the best solution.
