    Re: Hotpoint DF22P Cycle Time

If that is the case it may well be that there is a heater related fault. This can be anything from broken wiring in the door harness near the hinge, heater or control timer failure ( which you have already eliminated at some considerable cost ) or other wiring failures.

Please be sure to remove the plug if you intend to go further or click the link in my sig to see if we have someone in your area who can help.

Click on the Red toolbox on the left, enter your details and you should find someone in your area. You will be able to discuss times, costs etc with them.

Make sure you keep the condensor clean, a pressure hose in the back garden is good, 😀 Except in emergencies, do not stop the dryer mid cycle to check on how dry the load is, always let it continue to the end and complete the cool down phase.

Plug out at all times when you have your fingers inside.

NB. If you do decide to follow the link above, handle the components with care, do not press the round bases of the parts.

You can get most things but I would be wary of diving in and fitting expensive electronics without letting an experienced engineer have a look first to be honest.

When you say ‘stops’ is this at random points in the cycle or at a precise point every time? There are many things that can stop a machine, fill valves, heater faults, pump blockages etc.

The door latch and door interlock mechanism on this machine has always been prone to causing the machine to stop mid cycle or to fail to start at all.

When it stops you could try pressing or moving the door to see if it will start up again. If that fails then it is a case of putting the machine on a cycle, waiting until it stops, then with the correct test equipment and product knowledge going through all the possibilities.

    Hi Carl. 😉

I live in a very soft water area and only ever use one tablet ( Ariel of course) even on a full load. For a half load we often break a tablet in half to prevent oversoaping.

HP13 (non gen) & HP14 ( gen 149090) are still listed from Qualtex, not sure how up to date that info is though.

Thanks Chris, I can order with confidence and blame you if it is wrong. 😆

Sometimes when you are trying to see if it is NS or Evo then decide which of the four options it is, whilst looking at the laptop screen with the customer peering over your shoulder, it can get a bit confusing, seems so much clearer on the large PC screen at home.

Daughters, don’t you just love em. 27 years old, private education, GSCE’s, A levels, two Degrees, qualified solicitor on almost three times what I earn and yet I still seem to be carrying her around all the time 🙂

To be honest she does work ridiculously long hours, is the singer with an ‘in house’ rock band and choir, plays team squash, netball etc so I can understand when she says says doesn’t have time to get things sorted. She seems to think that the noise is worse when the immersion heater knocks on.
I can sense a ‘ Daaaaaaaad, can you come down and have a look,( not my area of expertise) or wait in for whoever’ call coming soon. Problem is my phone has been burning off the wall in the past fortnight so I am three days behind with my calls.

In fact I may ask for assistance from the clan gathering in Manchester next wekend. 😆

No, Final Spin led flashes for OOB conditions. Have you tried the ‘Last Error detected’ routine , you can find it in the ‘Known Error Codes ‘thread.

Prewash light flashing indicates a fill time out, poor fill or possible draining on fill due to low outlet hose or syphoning.

I have heard of some recent Hotpoint machines coming out without a drum bearing seal. 😯
