To be honest, 95{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of people that I call on with this fault, say that their ‘bushes’ have gone, I always have a sarcastic glance out of the window into the garden to check. 😆

In the same way that if I order a part such as a hose or similar and they ask how long it will be, I reply ” about 12 to 15 inches” 😉 😈

Strange one this, went today and she had the machine on. It was just starting the spin cycle which it performed perfectly. Motor, module, harness appear perfect. Filter and all hoses plus pressure chamber clear.
The only thing I could fault was the Askoll type pump which was very noisy, however I could not get it to fail. She is going to try it again and if need be I will change the pump to eliminate that as a possible cause.

Also , certain types of stains can become set into the fabrics on contact with hot water, before the detergent has had time to act.

    Re: Hotpoint WM51

First things first, most faults on these boards are caused by other component failure, door locks and motor faults two likely candidates. Have these been checked/replaced/repaired?

When you say he has blue, black & green wires, I assume you do not mean wires but connector blocks.

There are only two separate wires on these timers that fit at the very front lower edge of the board, all the other connections are via connector blocks.

If you can trace the wires from each block to its destination I may be able to help.

Please make sure the plug is removed.

One of the Hotpoint lads posted it somewhere, my version of PartFinder has just flagged that it is due for renewal so hopefully it will be listed on the next version.

It does come off backwards, very tight though, you need to give the front edge a sharp, hard knock with the heel of your hand.

PS. I am not liable for any self inflicted physical damage. 🙂

Stats are now available separately, number has been posted somewhere on the site.

When you say 3H & 9H do you mean neons 2 + 4 ? If so you may have a heater fault.

    Re: Hotpoint Cooker EW91

It will almost cetainly not be ‘original packing’ more likely to be a heat resistant spacer or a liner from inside the timer that is breaking up. The access to the controls on this appliance is not a DIY job, Back panels, side panels and the hob assy plus other bits & bobs need removing. I strongly recommend you have a look at our Repairs@ section via the link in my sig. The timer unit itself is over £100 of a part so you need to handle with extreme care. Unit is around ten or more years old, but is quite a solid job.

Please isolate from mains if you intend to proceed further.
