ModeratorRe: Ariston Margherita A1635 performance
Before you go to such drastic lengths it would be worth trying an alternative detergent. Liquids do not contain a bleaching agent and as such do not perform as well on heavy stains. Try using Ariel tablets or powder and you should see an improvement over the liquid performance.

ModeratorRe: DVD Player
Most CD/DVD drives have a small hole that you can insert a probe to mechanically release a jammed disc, have you checked the user manual for this?

It would take all the metal used in 50 modern Merloni machines to make that part!! 😆
If it is a purple door bowl model, could be 30 years easy. Now that’s enviromentally friendly!! 8)The frightening thing is, back then we thought they were poorly made, not up to the standards of the Empress. 😉 😆
My guess as to the age of a date code 62 would be around Feb 1974. 🙂iadom

ModeratorRe: Strange WMA60 fault
Fairly good connections from interlock to PCB on these machines, only three years old, all connections are absolutely perfect, no sign of poor contact of any kind.

ModeratorRe: Staggering Really
Ken, I hope you don’t mind, but I posted the main thrust of your first post in another forum that I frequent. Some of the replies have been interesting, this one in particular. Care to comment.

I am afraid this post has wound me up no end. It is the ussual half baked – daily mail style I’m not racist but…. nonsense.
1) There are no subsidies for Polish people who are migrant workers- they pay their own way
2) I removed this one as it refers to another post, linking this problem with higher education. Jim.
3) We do need good vocational options- but the politicians are so scared of the middle class education/ daily mail mafia that we have an education system biased towards the academic
4) Aprenticeships – are available with funding for ‘a lad’ or indeed ‘a lass’ with no reference to race or sexuality (another Daily mail myth)
details here http://www.apprenticeships.org.uk/5) The national employer training pilot offers funding to support those who do not yet have a level 2 see http://etp.lsc.gov.uk/
6) So called positive discrimination is unlawful

No problem Lawrence, 2nd time in this one thread, the problem you describe would also account for the soap residues still on the clothes.
