Disposal may become a bit of a problem, but I’m sure there will be a ‘workaround’ 😉

ModeratorRe: Hotpoint T/Drier TC71
I have had the reversing timer in the base stop the heater working on one machine recently,it was stuck in the anti clockwise mode, motor still ran though, I suppose it could have failed and stuck between switch over. On some machines you can advance the reversing timer from underneath without removing the cabinet.

ModeratorRe: How can I provide proof of purchase to Indesit?
This machine does not have the digital control panel, which as far as I am aware are the only Indesit machines covered by five years parts warranty, any extended warranty that the original purchaser paid for is not transferable to a third party.
Robbie, have you got the user /instruction manual, if so does it mention a five year parts warranty anywhere?

Well, Indesit certainly got it right on their silver models, the ones on which the model number ends in SUK’s 😆

Thanks sparkey, will give that a go. She has not used it for almost 12 months so a few more days without it should not be a problem.

That could be a fairly simple repair although you should be getting the timer rapidly advancing and a light flashing a set number of times . Well worth looking for a good local independant rather than pay Indesit prices.
If the main motor is not revolving then you should only get a sound when the machine is on rinse or spin cycles, the noise you will hear is the drain pump.

Dave, is this similar to the Smeg produced, Hotpoint built in oven?

ModeratorRe: In sink erator.
Will give that a go , couldn’t see exactly how the switch could be removed from the outside without forcing it.

So, its a bit like Fiat selling the 124 data and old tooling to Russia who then came up with the LADA. 🙂 The poors souls who imported them had to virtually rebuild most of them before they hit the road.

ModeratorRe: hotpoint dwf 31
Manual only lists codes as 0 to 9, no mention of h, error 2 is heater fault.
I can e-mail you the Service test programme info if you wish.iadom

Don’t think that machine has a five year parts warranty, the warranty is not normally transferable to a third party in any case. 😥
Edit. When you say the machine will not spin, is it emptying OK, is the drum revolving on wash, is the timer clicking round, and if so, how many times does the indicator light flash ? It could well be that you would be better off contacting a local independant engineer to have a look.

Students, cooking 😆 a tin opener and a can of beans. 😉
Any model names or number visible? , look around the door or at the bottom for a rating plate.

A cold fill only machine, now there is a novel concept. 😉
