ModeratorRe: Wiring? Hotpoint dryer tdc 30
If my memory serves me correctly the OP was on the boards a week or so ago, I think he fitted stats but noticed the heater was damaged.
Firstly , this micro switch is rated at 16 amps., perfectly suitable for a heater.
When the micro switch is in situ the highest terminal on the side opposite the activating pip is common, the centre or No:4 terminal is N/O the lowest or No:2 terminal is N/C
The double wire including the one that goes to the green spot stat goes to terminal 2, the single wire going to the neon goes on No:4 , the other wire ( can be double on some models) has one wire that goes to the motor, via a connector that also goes back to the timer.iadom

I spent an entire hour trying to find a leak and couldn’t see a drop. I even waited 10 mins after it had finished – despite thinking the fault is impossible. The daft thing is it was quite wet underneath when I arrived.
Have they got a dog, I had a FNF ( fault not found ) on a Hotpoint 1830 many years ago, finally traced to the Jack Russell terrier peeing on one corner of the washer.iadom

Had a look at that earlier Martin, in fact that was how I got the model number because my mate couldn’t find it.
He has phoned an order for a seal, I just wondered if anyone has done one of these. I once did one on a Newpol W/D, a horrible black seal, again for a friend over 20 years ago. I never went to another. 😥
a recent one on a Bauknecht was a bit of a pain as well.

ModeratorRe: website closure
If you are having browsing problems and adaware/spybot and virus scans don’t seem to help to clear them, then download and run this utility.
hijackthisWhen you run it, it will check everything that is loading with your browser etc. Best not to use the fix option first, you can save the log file to a text document. There are several sites that will analyse and advise you, if you copy/paste it to them. I frequent two forums who have people who are experts in this field.

No, there’s no hum – or at least not a motor-type hum. All you can hear is the sound of the timer. The machine still pumps the water out without any problems, but no water is circulated during the washing cycle.
This forum seems to be none too keen on Indesits! Would Hoover or Hotpoint be a good choice?
If your appliance is under 5 years old, your parts are under g/tee from Hotpoint, however their call out charge is around £89.00. Best bet would be a local specialist, look in repairs@to check if there is an engineer in your area.
NB. For Hoover read Candy, for Hotpoint read Indesit. 😉

ModeratorRe: Water not circulating
It would suggest that your main circulation pump/motor is not running, can you hear a humming noise when it should be washing?
It could be an obstruction in the pump, a wiring or control fault or even a motor fault. The latter two possibilties are both on the expensive side.
Unless you have the required skills and test equipment, it sounds like a job for an experienced engineer.
Please be sure to remove the mains plug if you are gonig to investigate further.iadom
ModeratorRe: hotpoint df23 dishwasher overfilling
The chamber should fill three times, each time the water cascades over onto the micro switch rocker, the feed is switched from the inlet valve to the timer for the duration of the syphoning of the water from the ‘fill chamber’ . You should be able to hear the timer motor running when the micro switch rocker trips over. The timer should advance far enough during the three fills to move from fill to wash action.
I have had breaks in the wiring harness near the door hinge from the micro switch to timer causing this fault.iadom

Funnily enough, my daughter is a recently qualified solicitor, working for a top ten Law firm in Manchester.
Her hourly rate, billed to the clients is over £200.00. 😯
She only gets a paltry £33 K per annum though. 😉 8)

Yes, you should be a solicitor or a barrister. 😉

ModeratorRe: Creda Double Oven
I changed a top oven stat on a Solarglo only last week. There are around 8 models of Solarglo but as some of them are 220 V you must get the correct stat.
Not the easiest job for the inexperienced, both side panels off, hob carefully lifted back, glass facia and ‘all’ the knobs to remove. The hob elements are very expensive so you do need to take great care with this repair, ( or get someone with the ‘knowledge’ ) 😉iadom
ModeratorRe: hotpoint dishwasher DWF50P ERROR codes
Can you think of the lights as 1 to 4 from the left and let us know which lights are flashing. There is no download on Hopoint’s web site for the user manual for this machine so I cannot identify the lights, and I am still waiting for my copy of the tech manual……….May be able to suggest what problem ‘could possibly’ be if you do as suggested.

It also has a 3 phase motor and stainless steel outer drum. but as you say 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of parts listed are COO numbers.

I have had several customers that I have referred back to Hotpoint for drum repairs tell me they have been quoted that amount in the past few months.
