ModeratorRe: Indesit IWDD 7143 Washer Dryer Help Please
Possibly an intermittently faulty inlet valve, not uncommon on these.
Two different inlet valves fitted, full serial number and commercial code needed to identify correct part number.
Trying to say why these machines do anything is not easy, in fact trying to explain how they ever work in the first place, very flaky electronics to say the least.
Generally a motor fault would prevent the machine from running a simple spin cycle.

looking at the right hand vertical lights from BOTTOM to TOP and using only the bottom five lights, which lights are on steady by number counting upwards.
When you removed the sock did you check that the pump impellor would rotate?

You need to get the heating element tested for continuity, resistance and insulation.
The heater is around £25 so well worth fixing. If it is due to the plumbing then there is nothing that needs fixing on the machine. 😉

Worth checking the motor carbon brushes if you can.

ModeratorRe: Hotpoint SDW60 – electrical fault?
Well the upside of it being Chinese is the pcb’s are the cheaper ones, again full serial number required to determine which one if needed.

It’s a cheap Indesit in a Hotpoint dress, both the heater and the pcb are known weak points.
Some of these were actually made in China, the Chinese model can have two different pcb’s, the Italian one also has a different pcb.Vastly different price range from over £80 to less than £40.
Full model number, serial number and commercial code needed to ID, look for ‘made in China’ or in PRC.
The connections get hot due to poor quality components and a failure at one point can weaken or damage the other.
Have you replaced the burnt connections then tried the machine? you should have cut off the old connector plug and refitted two new AMP tags.

Merged your posts to keep it all in one place.
None of the trade members will be likely to tell you how to carry out such a potentially damaging exercise. :rolls:

ModeratorRe: Hotpoint Ultima washer dryer not heating and no code
It doesn’t have any thermostats, and the two systems are separate. The temperatures are controlled by NTC’s or thermistors which do not stop the heaters from working, they basically just control the temperatures.
If you have access to a suitable multimeter or better still a megger then the first thing to do is to check both elements electrically.
It is possible that the wash heater failed months ago and now the dryer heater has failed but you should have noticed some problems with the programmes when or if the wash heater failed.

Are you sure it’s not heating on the wash cycle. Two totally different heaters for a start. A faulty dryer heater would be the likeliest cause of dryer not working but a faulty wash heater would cause the wash programme to continue indefinitely.
PS. A model number is always a big help. 😉

No flashing lights or error messages?
It doesn’t stop, and when it eventually does stop, “not logical Mr Spock” ?????
Faulty heater can cause this, also plumbing faults causing the machine to syphon will also have the same effect.

It is a very cheap, Chinese made appliance with a sealed drum. I think you know what the best course of action is. 😉

I don’t think I can put it any clearer than that. 😉iadom
ModeratorRe: Hotpoint AQUARIUS WML560 diagnosing error
Ignore the flashing lights, error codes are given with the bottom five vertical lights on steady counting from BOTTOM to TOP.
Lights 1+2 = F03 NTC(thermistor) short or open circuit. The NTC is the small temperature sensor that slots into the water heater, could be loose wiring contacts.

ModeratorRe: WF860P NOT SPINNING
Lack of answers points to no one being sure, myself included, it’s an unusual description for sure.
It sounds like OOB but it should only do that when loaded. If it was a tacho fault the motor would not run smoothly during wash action.
Points towards a pcb failure but the absence of any error codes makes everything guesswork.
The only known certainty is that the Indesit electronics are woefully unreliable and prone to all sorts of faults.
