They all have their own dedicated site, just Google each brand and make sure you go to the official web site and follow the links.

Re: Hotpoint 17450 motor cutting out

You need to familiarise yourself with basic induction motor functions. 😉

That is the motor start relay and you should not attempt to start the motor unless that relay is perfectly horizontal.

It is possible after all these years that relay is now failing, the chances of getting one are very remote but if you continue to try you will burn out the motor.

If you are very careful ( and you have nothing to loose really ) you can carefully open up that relay to clean the contacts with a nail file or similar. Carefully drill out the two rivets and remove the top of the relay to reveal the contact bar and plunger/solenoid. There are two sets of contacts, either end of the contact bar and on the relay terminals. Refit and secure the top by any means you can.

Typing at the same time as Dave, 😀 if the overload is failing there is nothing you can do as it is embedded into the motor windings. Sadly retirement looms. 🙁

The main power boards on all Indesit machines are prone to this fault.

You have a leak somewhere inside, you will find the base has filled with water again.

    Had it before, 😀

This is a low end Indesit dishwasher, leaks, dodgy electronics, main pump failures, heater faults etc, etc. :rolls:

The base is flooded, you have an internal leak somewhere which needs investigating and rectifying.

It’s a while ago now but I think the customer decided to buy a new machine.

Near the securing lugs at either side, it’s fairly robust.

On that last point I can only sympathise.

You prise it off with a flat bladed screwdriver then remove the fan. You may find refitting the fan cover harder than getting it off TBH. 😉

Oops Bryan, read the thread and you will see it is a different person asking, four years later. 😀

Ah, more likely the sludge was the main/only fault initially. a regular maintenance wash and use of powder instead of liquids a good way to avoid a repeat build up. 😉

It would be a good idea to totally drain the machine via the pump filter before refitting new switch BTW.

    Sometimes not. 😉

I bought a large Sony flatscreen TV from JL in November. It was delivered by two blokes who looked like scruffy gypsies in an unmarked, fairly tatty large white van.

If I hadn’t had text confirmation of their impending arrival I would have been bolting the doors. :eeek:

    Re: Beko WMA520S pressure switch

Curious as to why you think the pressure switch is at fault, generally a very reliable component?

    Re: Beko WMA520S pressure switch

It’s digital, hence no switches, the main pcb measures the change in resistance. the old style analogue pressure switched clicked as the internal switches tripped over.
