ModeratorThere are huge differences in quality between genuine carbons and some but not all pattern brushes. It would make sense to use the best possible with your high usage.

ModeratorReading the other diagnostics manual doesn’t show anything different. Are any of the status lights flashing at the same time as the Start/Pause button?
There are 10 separate diagnostics tests, did you run each one?iadom
ModeratorIt really is a nightmare with Lux stuff, it looks as though the answer is on page 61 of that manual but I’m damned if I can work it out from that? There are a couple of other ‘service manuals’ for that model I will have a quick look at those as well. Does yours have any other model names on the front?

ModeratorThat looks a bit like a Whirlpool made unit. Are there any other numbers on the rating plate?

ModeratorYou should do what any sensible man would do, listen to your wife. Aspirante units are available online for well under £130, replacing one Triton unit with another is an absolute doddle. I have done my own twice in the past 20 odd years.;)
You can buy the Amore unit for £50 from B&Q.
When your current unit eventually fails then replace it, you should be able to do that for well under £200.

ModeratorThis is the element to give you some idea of cost, always assuming that is the cause of the fault.

ModeratorDefinitely a White Knight, code number confirms that. Still needs opening up and components testing electrically. My money would be on the element.

ModeratorUntil the fault is isolated it’s not possible to know if it is repairable at a reasonable price. Still looks like a White Knight rebadge to me. Are there any other numbers at all on the rating plate stuck on the back?

ModeratorIt’s a difficult one for sure. We have all encountered the customer who insists her machine is doing something that you know is physically impossible and it is hard to humour them.

ModeratorPossibly a built in White Knight. There will be a rating plate or label stuck on the back. It needs dragging out which you would have to do to repair anyway. If it is a White Knight they often have a small red reset button on the back as well.
Heating element possibly most common failure on these, also a small stat set into the heater plate can fail. If it is not just a tripped reset button then it will need someone with suitable electrical knowledge and test equipment to isolate the fault.
