A fully deserved win in the end, United just wanted it more than Spurs. 8)iadom
ModeratorRe: Hotpoint Aqualtis washing machine
Due to the manufacturers trying to outdo each other with their ‘green’ credentials, all machines use much less water than years ago. The result is a water efficient machine that leaves your clothes smelly and poorly rinsed.
Using too much detergent, especially liquid detergent and doing nothing but low temperature washes at 40C or less will only make this worse.iadom
ModeratorRe: Hotpoint dryer heating element question/help
The electronics self test all components and will go into error mode if a fault is detected. Shorting out any components will just result in another error code. π

Seems to be coming from Germany, I deleted 7 posts and banned user a few days ago. All the recent usernames end in Gog so it looks like banning the IP isnβt working that well.

Not sure our local Bengal Brasserie would be too pleased about that. π

Yes, you can set the machine to a spin cycle to test the motor without water.

ModeratorRe: My washing machine won’t ‘wash’
Given the model and age of your machine, if the brushes have never been changed then they are long overdue even with only moderate use. I can’t see them so no idea of their condition.
Three different motors used on these, all with different brushes.iadom
ModeratorRe: My washing machine won’t ‘wash’
Doubt very much that the heater is faulty, the motor would still run perfectly even if heater was at fault.
The only indication you may have had is the machine sounding a little βdryβ or a slight crackling noise.
Sometimes all the lights will flash but not always. You have to remove the motor and examine both the brushes and the commutator that the brushes rub against. The ends of both brushes should be shiny, not rough or pitted and the commutator should also be smooth and a little shiny. There is a good article in the Help and Advice section on this site to advise on brush faults. π
