Or fit a new set of connectors to the pump wiring and reseal the inlet hose with a suitable adhesive.

Due to a rather bad design the water inlet hose goes into the outer drum directly above the drain pump. When the sealant deteriorates this then leaks onto the pump and wiring.

I have had quite a few occasions when the small wiring plug for the pump has shorted or burnt causing pcb to blow.

Inspect the small plug carefully, then peel back the door seal to allow you to inspect the hose from dispenser to drum for signs of leaks.

    Still here. 8)

I have two phone lines at home and have never given my mobile number to customers.

I will be cancelling the number I use for business shortly. As much as if am grateful to all of my past customers I don’t want to spend hours on the phone with people pleading with me to β€˜just do mine’. πŸ™

Never thought I would be giving up work before giving up playing squash but had a very enjoyable game last night, don’t think I will get back to the five or six games a week of 25 years ago though, need a couple of days recovery time these days. πŸ™‚

At the end of the day, as long as you are ok that is all that really matters. Just not worth getting strung out with assoles like this. πŸ™

F08 or an 8 flash fault is something I refused to attempt to repair several years ago.
Whilst the error code is ‘supposed’ to be the heater relay it can be caused by many other things and TBH a successful repair of this fault is rarely achieved. πŸ™

Given the age of this machine I would suggest the current Easter sales may be your best option.

If you enter ‘8 flashes on Indesit‘ in Google you will get some idea of the scale of your problem. πŸ˜₯

Might be worth checking the motor brushes just in case but sadly the error code for that combination is F08. That is supposed to be a heater relay fault on the main circuit board.

The filter will be inside the valve on the machine, your old pipe or a new one from any DIY outlet will be fine.

All new machines are or should be supplied with the correct hoses. πŸ˜‰

It would be unlikely for him to have damaged the pump from the outside. The machine does have quite a powerful pump and TBH is was never the quietest of pumps.

Standing unused for some time won’t have helped and it may improve more with use.

Most JL machines are Lux/Zanussi. If it is it will have a pnc or product number beginning with 914 on the rating plate.

Correct pnc would allow us to get the diagnostics routine if it is Lux/Zanussi.

TBH 50 seconds is a long time to drain fully in most cases.
Is the grey outlet hose connected to the under sink plumbing or does it go into its own standpipe?
If it is connected to the under sink plumbing then see if you can disconnect it from the plumbing and put the end of the pipe into the sink ( with the plug in the sink ) or into a large bowl or bucket situated at sink level to check on the outflow from this hose. It should come out at full bore.

On the contrary, competence with electrical test equipment is not something to be taken lightly and if you don’t know how to do a basic insulation test then this forum is not the best place for you to learn. πŸ˜‰

You have done your own online research and three different trade members with well over 100 years experience between them have all pointed to the heating element being almost certainly the cause of the fault. Unless of course there is a blockage or restriction in the hoses somewhere.

Don’t have tech info either but stat kit is exactly the same as has been used for years so chances are the neutral is routed through them.

    Stat kit is C00116598.
