The fans normally come off ok but if they dont and are rusted on ask the customer for a garden spade and shimmy it off! Seriously it works, I have actually got a removal tool for them but to be honest I have never needed to use it because normally a big strong pull and they come off. The rest comes apart pretty easily after that.

Yes it is a motor overload fuse, I had one that blew 3 fuses in the space of a couple of weeks, I chaged the motor and all was ok. The motor part number is: 481236138027 – £126 at Masterpart.
Also try taking the cowling off at the front and clear all the crud from the filter housing and fan, may be just getting to hot (Assuming you havent already done that)

ParticipantRe: Diplomat ADP8242 NIGHTMARE!
Is this a whirlpool machine? I think it maybe, if it is a faulty NTC causes it to abandon prog sometimes after a few minutes as if it had completed the wash, no fault codes, nothing.

Ok you Hoover/Candy engineers or any engineers I need help! I have replaced the heater and the exhaust/filter housing stat and still it only gets to 30-35 degrees before cutting out and the filter care light comes on, it will then gooff and heater comes on for a few seconds before cutting out again.
I have checked all connections to timer, heater, stats etc but no joy.
Could it be the timer ya think???

ParticipantRe: how to remove whirlpool fan?
You Dont! We smash them off and order a new one with the motor. They are always corroded on. Nightmare things.

Further to the above post, I have noticed that the filter light keeps coming on, only briefly but it comes on every 20 secs or so. I have cleaned the filter and sensor and the mc is now heating to around 60 deg. Not sure if the sensor is faulty, would this effect filter light keep coming on?

‘E’ on the display normally signifies a PCB fault, I am sure there is a test programme on these, Ill have a dig and see what I can find. The PCB’s are a common failure on these though.

I live about 15miles away and would really like to come, do I just turn up? Sorry about my ignorance but I have only ever been up for a brew with J Mac (ex-boss) in the past! Need to put a few faces to names and as I have only just started out on my own it could be invaluable for me. Just a bit conscious of the fact I dont know anyone!
