Re: A penny for your thoughts?

Had a letter before Christmas, from one specialist supplier, signed by all the staff, to inform me that they would not be sending cards this year and that the money saved on the stamps would be sent to charity !!
Wonder how much they saved 😕

I find if you put milk in the machine it kills the foam. No idea why but it works.
Alternatively if it is detergent the add a couple of scrapes from a bar of soap. Test by running a bar of soap over the foam and it should collapse.
If they used soap the add a couple of drops of detergent.

Expected a delivery from DHL last fri but knew they would not deliver due to the snow. By tracking found it was at local depot so phoned to ask if I could collect.
Poor woman on phone said ” dont think we will be able to find it got 4500 parcels here waiting and another 1500 due in later. We cant find a thing!!”
Finally arrived on Wed. Driver said they were about half way through getting sorted but there was another 2000 due in that night!

Unfortunatly all that is left of bar code is a few black lines.
No bill or instructions as house has changed hand a couple of times since it was installed.
Dated it to 2000 due to lables on stats etc.
Stripped door and handle has number 661410682 on it which have found on TDS as 899661410682/2 updates to 899661410682/2
This is listed on Connections but still no mention of a model no.

This is an ASKO built machine so spares are available from Connect.
Also available from http://www.armstrong-laundry.co.uk/ as they sell Asko commercial machines and the Primus versions.
Most parts have a part number stamped on them and start 806 or 890

Re: Smeg dish beeping at me!!

Having the same problem on same model number.
Machine beeps and wash pump surges. If turned of at mains and left problem still present when turned back on. However if program cancelled and machine resarted it will run quite happily for a couple of days before failing again. Goes with out saying always performs perfectly when I am there!!
Problem appears to be in last stages of cycle as dishes are washed and clean.
No sign of leaks or water in base. Water matrix clean. Have meggered all components back from PCB and all good.
    Any sugestions?

    Re: Do I Tell?

As i understand it this was a straight forward call from the customer to a repairer. Not via the manufacturer or an insurance company.
When you look at the figures if you are charging this much as a call out it does not pay to actually try and find out what is wrong just lift the lid BER and move on to the next job with the customer none the wiser but a lot poorer.

    Re: Do I Tell?

Well i guess if you can pull in £85 for a call out there is really not much need to actually repair anything.
Makes a mockery a buying a quality appliance, still only get 4 years use out of it then off to landfill.
