any chance of a pic of the pcb ? and the resistor component number might have an old timer knocking about so can tell you exactly what its supposed to be

    Re: electra fridge pcb

is the fridge dead ? they were prone to the blue square plastic capacitor on the pcb going o/c maybe worth popping in a new cap to the old board?

If your machine has a digital display and has previously shown E20, a drain error, it would certainly suggest a pump issue. As much as I hate to recommend it for anything a universal askol pump motor will be cheap as chips on Flea Bay.

    Re: Seven Days A Week

I see it as a headache for agents with many engineers but as a sole trader, especially in these lean economic times I often find myself working at weekends as i’ve found if the customers don’t get a same/next day call commitment from you the next number in the local rag gets a call and that leads lost….

yes, failure of this type of pump is pretty endemic. Years ago when I started pottering about with machines most used shaded pole pumps, very rarely failed( unless physically jammed by a foreign object) however they did, regularly spring leaks from the impeller seal. The advantage of these wee magnetic pumps is they cant really leak due to the way they’re designed but degradation of the magnetic core often results in failure.By the end of the cycle the pumps already done 3 or 4 cycles during the rinses so starting to get pretty hot so increased probability of failure on the final spin. If level one on the pressure switch doesnt drop out the pcb will either abort the spin or attempt a far less spin of maybe 400-600 revs.If it still cant get rid of the water even the slow spin will be terminated.

both pumps will be permanent magnet motors which are subject to heat as a magnets strength reduces the hotter it gets, if the pumps already getting a bit sticky the heat will hinder it going. There’s no need to replace both if either or seem ok.

em that could be different I read that as ” tripping out ” and its cutting out. Could well be your variable thermostat

DST3871425108 is the part number for a genuine part but an equivelent pattern part would be much cheaper just rattle the model number and fan element into google you’ll get the part no prob

more likely to be the element. the element is basically a length of wire incased in chalk and wrapped in an outer metal case. Often the chalk will either start to break down or absorb moisture giving a path to earth. Its not unusual for a cold element to test fine and yet show a consideably reduced insulation reading when hot.

have you checked the capacitors for dome-ing on the main pcb? When they go you get all kinds of weird faults

    Re: Bosch WAE24363GB/06 Strong Smell – Plastic/Chemical /Rub

sounds like the smell you get from heat breaking down the varnish that covers the wires in a coil. There’s only really 2 places you get that. 1- the motor which by replacing assuming its a good replacement, has been eliminated and 2. the drain pump coil… something to check anyway.
