    Re: Word Count

I resent that Chris………….. I am bionic and have 20/20 vision when I wear my contacts 😆

The main reason I have for using a 24″ monitor is remote desktop, I can log in to the office pc and see my own desktop at the same time.

He is the last remaining service manager and was at the same level as Bernie Seaman and Ray Woolger. Got his number in the office if you want it.

    Re: MFI

It gets better, phoned the customer in question to book in her dishwasher for tomorrow morning and she tells us MFI is coming in the afternoon to repair her washing machine.
Still waiting for a call back from Jim Frew.

BTW I spoke to the new top man back in December and see that he has stuck his email and phone number on the lastest service info sheet that we received yesterday. So if you want to harrass someone in power……… 😈

    Re: MFI

We get MFI jobs through in two different ways. MFI whirlpool made come through the Whirlpool system and still come thick and fast.
All the rest of the MFI jobs we get direct and I noticed last week that we received 31 MFI jobs in January and only 3 in February. I called Jim Frew to ask him if we were out of favour and got an outright denial with an assurance he would do some checking and call me back, no phone call to date.

Then we got a funny one today, a job came through for an APM8512 by email. Within an hour we got a cancelation for the same job and I quote the wording in the instructions box

    | PLS CANCEL FSR AS U DONT SSERVICE THIS APPL THANKJS S

We have probably fixed three or four hundred of this model so I think they have stopped sending me work and I will be on the phone to MFI a.m. tomorrow.

On the bright side I got two cheques from AIG today and Kevin said we don’t seem to have any problem gettting paid from them.

He won’t sell much if you have to log in just to look for a part number and price.

Just noticed that the cheeky sod has put

    © reconWarehouse

on the bottom of his spares pages.

Also I thought it was illegal to trade on the web without listing your trading address, cant see one anywhere.

    Re: Same Name Pops Up…

Surely copying the shop details across to his own site is illegal?
I did notice though that he has adjusted all the prices upwards!!!
I would delete his account and let him know why it was deleted, politely of course 😆 .

When you initialy filled the salt container with salt did you top it up with water?
If not pour water into the container till it overflows and then try appliance again.

    Re: Ignis D/w no heat

Whe the machine showed an error this time did the start light flash a sequence?

I also just noticed Smart’s post and he is correct in that it could be the NTC, usualy when an NTC goes faulty you get a continous flashing led and the appliance wont start but I have saw a few that were faulty with no error code showing.

    Re: Ignis D/w no heat

The suuply on this machine goes straight to the user board which has a double pole switch inside, from the user board it goes to the main pcb and connects right next to the heater wires. On the main pcb the incoming supply goes straight to a relay which feeds the heater. You say that there is power going to the motor etc: so the user board and door harness must be OK.

If there is no power coming out of the main pcb to heater it has got to be either the pcb at fault or the pcb thinks that there is not enough water in the appliance so wont turn on the juice to the heater. In the second scenario I would look at the flowmeter on the dosage chamber.

Sorry Chris, 1 missed your last post.

usualy an “invalid installation” is to do with the terminal not being configured correctly. Put the current MFI disc back into the cd and reinstall following the prompts. Right after it has installed it should come back up with the option to setup terminal, just press enter and it should set it up on C drive.

Re: Help needed from an ex-pat appliance!!!!

I would get the local agent in to sort this out as it is most probably the back board but it could be both back and front boards. It would be an expensive mistake to buy these and find out that the old ones are ok. Cost of both boards is approx £320!!!
If the guys that repair whirlpool appliances over there call they should be able to get these parts and have access to test equipment that will diagnose the fault for them.

    back board is 481221778217
    Front board is 481245228774
