Not the first time i’ve been caught out when i went to a machine checked everything was working, so plugged into to the back to find the last fault detected was an F05 or F08 or something else, so you assume that is what the fault is,fix that and off you go, only for a day or so later to have to go back for the brushes, its not like the old days when the motor was on the top and it was easy to pop out the brushes on every visit to check them, but hey these were Hotpoints in them days not Indes$$^{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}^t’s like they are now.

There are 2 fans in these a condensor fan and an evaporator fan, which fan is running if it is the the condensor fan you will probl’y need a thermistor or evaporator fan motor.

If you fit the new lifters on the steps the lugs of the lifter, drill through with a small drill
through the lifter and drum and then screw in a small stainless self tapper, i usualy do it on either side to provide a secure fit.

the motor pulley size wont make a great deal of difference
to the speed of the drum.
the size of the capacitor wont make any difference to the motor
    speed.

After being in this game for about 30 years, i am well aware the capacitor is a start capacitor and wont alter the speed i was only advising that the newer motors require a differant capacitor which can cause the motor to stall, i wouldnt think wiring incorectlty would’nt make much differance as the heat is not taken off the heater on reverse tumble unlike the the condensor dryers.
