I had one a few years ago it would fill do everything but no motor action, and no fault code but if i disconected the earth wire from the motor it worked, after trying almost everything i put a pressure switch in and it worked, never come across another like it since though, anything can screw the electronics up on these i’m afraid JJ

Could be the wash pump overload tripping as the drain pump is in series with the wash pump, but i’d be checking as Martin says for a blockage 1st, jj

If everything checks it could be the dryness module not switching the heater off when it reverses causing the stats to trip.

Hi Jim what type of sump is on it the rubber one or the plastic one, there was a mod to replace with 1604035 sump kit to cure sticking on rinse comes with pressure sw and flap valve, used to get caught out after i,d done a v2 tub on a few of them for some reason with the plastic sump they worked okay for years then after tub being fitted would stick in rinse, as a matter of course i whipped the flap valve out the pump on them when i changed the tub with machines with pastic sumps. Cannot remember the part n/o but the the jubilee clip on the 1604035 sump kit was the one Hotpoint used to fit the heaters never had one leak and i’ve done loads of them, no need for any glue cheers JJ

    Re: Hotpoint drier

As Helo says change the heater, if the heater and stats have had a good soaking you will get various thermistor faults, i’ve had a few recalls just fitting the stats trying to keep the cost down only to go back and fit a heater assy, JJ

I would be checking the motor plug and harness 1st before i plumped for a motor, also if it is an old style GEC type motor and it has the yellow tacho wires make sure these are not chaffing on the motor body as that can cause it alsoJJ
