    Re: Hotpoint WT761

Faults like this sometimes clear with a rewrite, problem is most engineers are shit scared to try it for the fear of a recall or the dreaded 3 day recall, they will lob in a module and eeprom every time i usualy try ones like that with a rewrite and it usualy cures most of the time.

FSE’S can still take cash or cheques the main reason they went down this route, as the banks were not happy with card payments via emit for security reasons, i had a £99.98 cash job today fitted a 1604822 motor.

Carbon dust from the motor on the back of the module can throw up an F08 fault also, i’ve cleaned them up to cure a couple never been back.

If the screws are are not rusted solid, as i would suspect in an 18 month old machine, if you give them a couple of good whacks on the the heads with a drift or some thing similar they usualy come out no prob’s, i only bring the drill out when they are knackered. cheers jj

Sounds more like a pressure system fault, ie duff sw, chaffed pressure hose or blocked sump /pressure chamber.

Was speaking to an ex Hotpoint /Indesit engineer today, who went to British gas was saying engineers up this way are leaving in their droves seems all is not rosy at BG at this present time.

    Re: WD61 spinning problems

I’d be looking for a partial blockage in press chamber/hose, doesnt need much to cause press sw not to reset for spin, O.O.Balance loads as well.

Re: Hotpoint wd860p power module connections

Had one giving an F01 fault checked harness with a circuit tester so decided it must be module fitted that only for it still to be there, changed harness bingo cured can only assume i was getting circuit becaues i moved it and when i reffited the break opened again.
