Ken, I have the email address of the guy at Sovereign who called me, I know it is a correct address as I got a read receipt back from the email I sent, I will PM it to you as I dont want to put it in this thread yet as it might cause a problem bur I think he is the one making most of the phone calls for Sovereign, what I said in email below:
Dear ******,
Further to your telephone call to me yesterday please be advised that I will onlly communicate via letter or email, I have no idea who or what your Company is and in what role you undertaking from the official Administrator for MFI.
I will be sending a letter to the Administrator today to clarify the situation, please do not try and telephone as all calls will be refused, as a Company I/We dispute the debt in its entirety and will be seeking detailed evidence that any moneys are owed to you.
Yours sincerely
David Jones
DirectorAs I said Ken I received a read receipt for the email but no actual reply !

Yes Clive thank heavens for UKW, if I was on my own with this completely I dont know how I would haved coped, probably cost a fortune in Solicitors for the same advice !!
Fortunately Ken I work from home so any letters should arrive no problem, but I will respond quickly to any I receive and of course keep everyone on here informed.
Once again many thanks to all of you, it is very assuring knowing I have some where to go for practical advice.

I thank all of you for your valued advice and support, had a pretty sleepless night last night and the wife is extremely upset, I will take your advice and refuse to talk on the phone with them and insist on communicating by letter.
I cannot afford legal help and have no insurance to cover legal help, the thought of representing myself is a bit daunting but I have nothing to lose, I am a Limited Company so they cannot persue me personnally so will dispute the claim in writing to the Administrators not Sovereign direct.
This whole situation though makes me feel is it worth continuing, in fact I have cut down the contract work a lot because I just dont trust anyone much these days, I mainly only work for manufacturers that supply parts FOC and Repaircare who contra payments every month, I will never get into this situation again.
A lesson harshly learnt on my part.

Hi Ken,
I appreciate your wisdom on these matters but I have struggled serverely since MFI went bust with not only the loss of money owed to us but the cost of us undertaking that work ,as well, left me nearly broke, this is just the icing on the cake, the cherry on top was losing 30{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of my work as well 😡
The thought of extra costs being charged on top like baliffs, court fees etc frightens the life out of me, I might have to consider closing down myself, I’ve worked hard for 7 years building this business up and I dont think I have the energy or willpower to start again, I will have to think very hard about what to do 🙁

Anyone else had a phone call from Soveriegn Credit Management today, called me demanding full payment for outstanding parts invoices owed to MFI, seemingly I have until Friday to make full payment or legal proceedings will be taken against me.
I cant pay the amount as I just aint got it so I may be another statistic of the credit crunch as I might be unemployed by the end of the week 😥

Can’t tell you what ER03 is John but I did have to change a few PCB touch controls under warranty for MFI though for various error codes, I would check all 4 rings are ok and also check connections on terminal block are correct and not loose first.
Other than that it will PCB part number 11543020 rrp £128.63 + VAT !!

ParticipantRe: DIPLOMAT ADP4520 1400 watt fan element
The lower wattage is only because they can be fitted with a 13amp plug top if no 45amp circuit is available, in fact the first models that came out only had a 1kw fan element in them and were soon upgraded to 1.4kw as they were extremely slow in cooking, it is the only element in the main oven, top oven is a weird set up and is very slow there was a modified kit available for the top oven but very expensive, might still be available from AW Services.
I have put in 2kw elements if appliance is connected to 45amp supply with no problems as the last versions produced did have a 2kw element fitted and could only be fitted to a normal cooker outlet, the ovens are made by Technogas for MFI so you can get pattern elements as well as genuine, hope this helps.

ParticipantRe: Test Gear & Safety testing
Hi all,
If anyone wants to purchase a Megger or Earth loop tester contact Andy Willey at AW Services, they have some second hand ones from the MFI Extracare Engineers available, out of calibration certificate but Andy can get that done for you, quoted me £50 + vat for each meter plus £30 + vat to calibrate each ones, as you know these meters are very expensive new so its good oppertunity to get legal at a reasonable price.

Hi Bill,
Don’t know if this will help but if you take off the panel at the bottom front of the machine you should find an Technical Leaflet, I think fault codes are listed on it, unless someone else has taken it out and not put it back as I have found out before :rolls:
