the thread you mean might be the one where i had experimented with a particular dishwasher and had found that a quarter turn on pressostat screw achieved correct level.

a repair guy would sort this in under a couple of minutes. however if you can suck out or soak up as much of the water as possible, you can then carefully pour in boiling hot water into the soapbox housing and let it stand for a while. in most cases that will solve your problem.
if you’re a bit more confident, then what i’d do is remove the wire around the door seal and detach the seal from the front panel only. then with machine upnplugged i’d be reaching inside just below the soapbox area where id begin squeezing the black soap hose. (a bit like milking a cow). this will breakup the blockage and allow the water to run into the drum.
then replace outer lip of door seal and of course the wire then youre done.

    thanks for reply
if definately is only showing three dashes and letter c
it will not respond at all to any attempt to set a temperature.
my gut feeling is still that it is locked out in some way and needs to be reset.

i thought the same. it has. but from what i remember reading i think it actually locks the door. but now you mention it i’ll see if i can download a manual as the customer didn’t have one.

    Re: Zanussi ZWF1631W E30 Fault

thanks for reply. you’ve basically confirmed what i thought. ie circuit board. whereas i regularly repair circuit boards id feel happier if the fault was consistent before having a go.
to be honest i’d never go down the route of buying a new board. its always a lot less stress to walk away.

    thanks again

    Re: Zanussi ZWF1631W E30 Fault

    can i revive this post.
i have this model which in diagnostics is showing e33.
i have fitted new element which made no change.
the motor has good insulation on field coils but is lower although i’d think acceptible at 4.5Mohms across the brushes/armature.
customer says fault is irregular. i.e. can run for weeks no probs. today just wouldn’t work at all.
    any help appreciated.

you’ve probably answered my problem. i fitted eight qualtex 180mm rapid plates to two lincat hobs. customer says they never get hot enough. the give away is that the red dots are clearly visible after two months.
i was beginning to doubt if i’d wired them correctly. i’ve always assumed that all plate terminals are the same. please tell me if i’m wrong.

probably got one of the crap askoll type spray pumps. replace it with the new kind which is more like a conventional motor about £50 and jobs a goodun.

f6 is usually the water metering impellor. either bad connection or seized wheel or faulty reed switch. or water turned off or blocked in-line filter or broken wire in door loom.

    Re: HDA HJA8630 dishwasher

firstly very useful info from criscold.
it turns out thet i had fixed the water impellor the other night by soldering a new reed switch. i was sent barking up the wrong tree cos i’d got the connector bent when refitting it. this came to light by a combination of cris’s info and a new impellor which still didn’t work.

    so happy chappie now.

conclusion is that if it fills and stops with no spray action, no humming from spray pump and you’ve ruled out the capcitor, wiring etc, then its probably the water impellor.

    p.s.
a quick test of it was to connect multimeter to it while filling there are two accessible points for the probes.

i once accidentally shorted out the ntc wires on one of these (i know, i forgot to turn it off). It blew the module in a big way, i mean toast. so get it out and have a look. probably expensive.

    Re: HDA HJA8630 dishwasher

how did you get on with this?
i have same symptoms. spray pump runs fine when plugged direct in mains.
i’ve checked continuity of all wires.
    heater is fine
flowmeter is spinning and its filling to correct level (i think).
the yellow wire which is live to spraypump is not getting any voltage out of the board. i’ve even connected a new board.

i may order a flow meter just to try but if you know different please tell.

    happy days!!!!
bit bored today so decided to rob a motor triac from a board and solder it in.
    yes that did the trick.
full wash cycle done and passed diagnostics with no faults indicated.
    one to remember.
