Is it like the new Miele’s, and need an empty wash first before use to set up the sensor’s etc?

Part shouldn’t be obselete, however if you can’t get it through Appliance Care or the Bosch web site http://www.bshappliancecare.com/Bosch/boschspares.html
(then click on QuickFinder to open the spares section and type in your model number), a decent spares supplier should be able to give you the Hotpoint equivalent (as they used the Bosch dishwashers at that time) which I have always found to be cheaper than the Bosch labelled item (identical apart from part number label)

For the record, most if not all of the laundry products for the Elux group are made at the Zanussi factory.

Comet used to have their own repair set up, and insisted on repairing themselves. They also bought the products extra cheap from the makers as they (Comet) took on the guarantee requirements.

Whilst I sympathise with your predicaments, I feel we have the machines we as consumers insist on paying for, with the resulting lesser quality. 25 years ago when I first started in this game, a Zanussi washer dryer was around the £400 mark……………….what are they now? Technology improves yes, but something has to give.

Nah! Just gob a bit of glue on the old one…. :rolls:

OK then..new seam seal and glue :rolls:

Knowing how those seals used to weep, I would always replace a tub seam seal.

    None taken 🙂

I would put the inaccurate new lengths down to poor production controls, and possibly worn plastic (for the mounting of the cable).

Re: Zanussi ZWD1662W & AEG Lavamat Turbo 16830 dryer pro

How about the drain hose? Is the end submerged causing syphoning back into the machine? Is it connected to a sink trap that’s blocked? Is it connected to an anti flow back valve that’s blocked with fluff and crud at the flow back valve?

Looking at the times involved, and the fact that’s it’s the third machine with exactly the same fault suggests to me a very probable outside influence and not the machines.

    Re: TC470 Door Lock Cables

Is it a “bodge” or a “technical adjustment/modification”? Personally I see it as initiative to overcome a problem that we used to see with the TC450’s and later.
As long as the result is a permanent fix surely that’s all that matters?

    Re: TC470 Door Lock Cables

Only time I have ever replaced a cable was because of a broken end, and never any issues with length. Any time I have come across the catch not working enough I have always put a kink into the solid cable as I said previously. Always works and quick to do.

If my memory is correct, there should be a special container type thing that you put the salt into then couple that onto the salt chamber inside the dishwasher.

My best suggestion would be to ring Miele technical services and ask them. They would be able to give you a definative answer as well as sorting you out if you wanted to order the part. They are very helpful so don’t be put off.

Sounds like a jammed wash motor to me. Probably done the same as the Bosch types do and stuck the seals together. Once you have removed the motor and unjammed it the appliance should work fine.

I disagree. A condenser dryer will create heat, but should not give condensation or damp to it’s surrounding enviroment.

Re: Bosch WTL 5500GB Condenser Dryer

Have you cleaned the condenser recently? That could cause the condensation issues. The counting down with nothing happening could be a sticky door interlock. Try some WD40 into the lock opening where the catch goes, and open and shut the door a few times.
By the same token, it could also be the main PCB.

Either this is a bloody long and good windup, or many here have weak fingers and no washing up liquid. Zanussi seal’s are one of the easiest to do.
