Seem to remember seeing a few of these where there is a leak that drips down onto the aqua stop wiring plug (front right corner as you look). depending on luck, it could just be an aquastop and cure of the leak. More seriously could also be the pcb in the fascia as well.
First check would be the state of the aquastop wiring plug for burn/short marks.
I also seem to remember this being “not unheard of”..

Unless the consumer in general can be persuaded to alter their ways, the big manufacturers will continue to reduce their costs to bolster their profits.

Lets not forget though that raw materials have gone through the roof, and whilst I don’t like bonded tubs, the cost savings of not using metals screws over a bonding process should not be overlooked. Against one machine the saving is minimal, against a whole production run the saving is very important. That was always the reason Zanussi gave us when we questioned why timer loom was so tight on the late jetsystem and Nexus stuff when it first appeared…costs of materials in total.

If the consumer actively wanted a longer lasting machine, Miele would be the no1 seller, but it’s not purely and simply because of the initial cost which the consumer in general refuses to pay for a mere washing machine, but will gladly for the new TV.

My honest opinion is that come 10 to 15 or so years the white goods repair market as we know it will be gone, and machines will be repaired by the manufacturer for 3 years then dumped on next failure.

I always do these with the machine on it’s back. Remove lid, side panels front lower trim, rear plastic to stainless screws, pop the springs, front plastic to main struts screws, ease to matrix clip, unhook the wash motor rubbers (if it has the elastic band types) then ease the base down.
Yes I need a towel or 2 to absorb but never had any spillage inside the appliance.

Often find over tightening of the top left decor door fixing screw can cause the on-off button to bind and not fully operate the switch. Slackening this off slightly would cure that.

I always remove others stickers when I repair a machine. I am not going to let them have the credit for my repairs.

Could also be a fluff build up in the hose-tank elbow blocking the hose. Seen that plenty of times.

    Sticky door switch?

I use WD40 to lube the lock up.

    Jammed wash motor?
That would cause the fault light if it has filled but the wash motor doesn’t rotate.

Re: Do you use customers toilet?

I have no qualms about asking to use the lavatory. I always leave it as clean if not cleaner than I find it, and of course hands washed. Only 1 lady has ever refused me, and her reply was she “only have 1”. I failed to see the relevance.
Everyone has to go, so as long as it’s left in a clean, tidy and hygenic condition I don’t see an issue.

Of course if you can’t aim, or don’t scrub after you then I would expect the customer to get the hump.

It’s amazing the amount of people who insist on buying the cheap rubbish, yet have a TV worth £1k, or a new car on the drive.

Sounds like a blocked pressure system.

Me: the noise was from this bra wire stuck between the drums.
    Cust: Can’t be… I don’t have wired bra’s.
Me: Oh, it must be your husbands then 🙂
Cust:…….( very unhappy and didn’t see the joke..)

    Re: New washer dryer

I would go for a Bosch, or Siemens if you can find one. Both are identical machines, with colour differences only. This does only apply to the washer dryers though.
(That is as the Miele’s are beyond your range)

As for Hoover’s, I would rather wash my clothes in the Ganges 😕
