I would look at the PCB.
Not the best electronics they have produced;)

I would be more inclined to the pressure switch if you can turn the machine off then back on. However I am not App Care, but have you tried going into diagnostic to see the last recorded fault?

Have had the pressure switch cause odd sticking on these machines, usually at high level just as it switches the water off.Not a cheap part for what is an old machine now. Also seen the main PCB cause this.

I never remove both screws at the same time, only slacken one then remove the other. The wheel assembly can then be rotated and lifted clear, allowing you to fit the new wheel loosly on the now bare post before you finally remove the original wheel screw. Doing it this way means you never loose the wheel mounting.

I’d thought about maybe a Bosch. Can anyone let me know the cheapest model that is made in Germany?

Since the OP asked the above question, I think it’s a big deal that no Bosch machines are made in Germany.

I thought the Bosch only did silver and not stainless steel. I would go Miele. You will get your 5 yr warranty (which I would be surprised if you used) and their spares are easier to obtain (as is service) than Maytag. The last Maytag spare I wanted (for my own fridge) took them 7 weeks to send me.

I would also check for pcb issues. Get the machine going on spin and see if the air coming through the ducting exhaust at the door seal is warming up. If the air is warming/getting hot then the triac is switching the neutral (dryer elements live both sides when not needed).
If I come across a Bosch style w/d that has tripped the TOC, after resetting and checking condenser and fan operation I always do a spin with door open.

Bosch do a very good Y-connector, made of a very thick and solid plastic. It is by far the best Y-connector I have used.

Hidden evap type? Sounds like a blown wall and unstuck itself from the evaporator. Be surprised though if it was colling effectively though.

Could the non-replacable hinge carrier be bent out at the top? Try a little “technical adjustment” and knock it back in about a mm or so. Have found this problem allows the door to not close properly although initially the new hinges give the impression of everything being ok.

Seamy wrote:There is a modification available from Electrolux for these machines to prevent small items of underwear/socks etc getting down between drum & tub. It consists of of 4 pieces of plastic & fits under door gasket. Can’t get the part number right now.
This will help to prevent things getting blocked but doesn’t address the problem of poor quality parts in the first place causing breakdowns.

Zanussi had a plastic ring on the drum side of the door seal for the original jetsystems to stop things going between the drums, which they later incorporated into a door seal with a larger and more substantial drum side edge.
I remember that ring (and the subsequent immediate replacement) being very handy for drums that had a large gap at the front even with a new door seal.

I understood that if the appliance had any gas you had to be Corgi registered to touch it, even it’s just something as easy as door hinges.
