ParticipantRe: Height reduceable washer dryer
Sorry chaps, I think you’re missing my question. It is if you know of any machines that can still be height reduced. The current trend is to include the fascia into the lid and therein lies the problem. So I am trying to find a non-Miele washer dryer that can have it’s lid removed and replace the lid with the correct plate.

They were who we used, but they now have stopped…as have Zanussi. It would seem the only make that do one is Miele, but it’s nice to have cheaper options;)

Motor tacho fault?
Seem to remember having this myself.
All is accessible from the front, no need to take the motor out, just remove motor cover and the brush/tacho assembly can be unbolted and carefully removed.Kentish

ParticipantRe: zanussi – bottom reservoir and condensate drain kits
The Zanussi condenser dryers with the water tank at the bottom can be gravity drained away via the capped outlet on the rear.
Alternatively something like a Bosch, that can be plumbed out via a pluimbing out kit is a better option. These are fully pumped, with the plumbing out kit easily available.Kentish

I would check the wiring at the heater plug, element side. They put some sort of resin moulding on the element side on later machines, early ones had nothing. I have found you can get moisture shorting the probe on the element side. Normally I dry out as best I can, scrape any crap away as best then put some adhesivo over the whole wiring plug loom entry points.
You can tell by careful visual inspection, and your fault symptons point at this:)Kentish

Because it’s mine, and I hate to have to call someone else in to fix something I can. PLus I was hoping it was “nothing” as I was told in the first place;)

ParticipantRe: Miele Condenser Dryer, Pump removal help
Also had the base assembly block with fluff.
There is 1 clip that stops the thing from rotating to be removed. Cant remember which side, but a mirror will help you see it. I find them a bit fiddly, but quite robust.Kentish

It’s easy to meter ther element and TOC from their plug at the heater relay. Assuming you have resistance, a check for correct supply at the relay will tell you the relayPCB is required. I don’t bother trying to repair the things, just replace the PCB .

Martin wrote:Bloody hell, what size sink do you have? If the condenser is so badly blocked with lint then only a jet washer will clear it. 😉
I have found too high a pressure only causes more dense blockages, or damage to the high fins.
You don’t need a big sink to clear a condenser, and is the best method I have found to clear them. You only need about a third of the condenser covered side on, and just force/push the condenser up and down…..then just watch the little bits of fluff in the water.Kentish

A sink of water and push the condenser up and down vigorously usually does the trick.
Blocked condenser is always the first port of call.Kentish

I have found if the TOC on the back is ok, most of the time it’s the relay PCB itself. Back top right.
