The elements in Bosch now are no better than anyone else now. Unlikely the PCB will have caused the element to fail, more the other way around. I will though say that although I have had to change quite a few Bosch elements for being to earth, I haven’t had one thats caused further issues…..yet anyway:)

The dryer fan motor and elements dont come on until about 3 mins after the dryer first starts, the fan motor starts initially then goes off quite quickly. If after about 5-7mins the dryer element aren’t heating then I would suggest you will have 240v both sides of the dryer element and the dryer will have lost its neutral on the PCB (something for which I have changed lots of the PCB’s for.)

Most times with E17 I have had to replace the PCB and inlet valve as a pair.

Having needed a new tool carrying device for some time, I was interested to see some of the suggestions.
Having looked and justified things to myself I went for a Veto Tech Pack, having never before been a rucksack lover. All can say is what a revelation it is. Yes you have to be organised, but then that’s not hard.Yes you probably really need to think whether you still really need to carry things like the heater clamp washer tool for Zanussi wash craft and such, but once organised and set the bag is awesome, and when on your back, really steady and easy to move around. More importantly the weight within it seems to melt away with the back padding and padded straps really helping.
If you need to go further than curb side to front door with more than 10 paces I cannot recommend this bag highly enough.
Yes it isn’t cheap, but then nothing of quality is these days.

Inlet valve and possible main PCB.
Have had quite a few where you have to change them both as on their own they make no difference.
The dryer functions aren’t totally straight forward. When you put the dryer on the fan runs, valve energises and drum tumbles. Then the fan cuts out, and after a couple of minutes you will hear the PCB dryer relay kick in and the fan starts up again and the the element is powered.

The Bosch ones, although a plastic, are very thick and strong.

Is the wash motor impellor clear? I can’t remember all the model numbers that I have to deal with or their fault sequence but have seen it many times where the wash impellor is semi blocked with detergent wrappers or the like and the inlet light flashes after a very short while.

Sounds like a not filled in time issue.
Seen plenty of the Bosch valves not open fully and give very poor flow.

Could there possibly be a deflection in the cabinet as a result of force against the door when it’s been closed?

I have found the wrapping from certain detergent tabs to get caught up in the wash impellor so the machine thinks it is low on water. You have to remove the motor assembly, then you can clear the impellor.

    Not hard, just awkward.
Hardest thing I find is to not fully remove the front panel, and to not upset the lower panel removing bar to much.
Torx 10 for the screws holding the switch in place.
Top plate off, fascia off, undo the front screws, and tease evrything as gently as you can.Can remeber for sure but side panels might have to come off to allow front panel to move. The more you are able to leave on the easier it is to reassemble.

Could also be the dishwasher tablet bag stuck in the wash impellor. Seen that many times, and gives the same symptoms.

    Agree with the door lock.
I would squirt WD40 into the lock opening and rapidly open and close the door a few times. If it starts ok in the end, would suggest a new door lock. They do have a habit of getting dry and sticky with age.

    Re: Height reduceable washer dryer

Yes, the now defunct idea of having a lid removeable to replace by a correct metal lid for when the washer dryer is under a worktop and not 850h, or for when someone wants to replace an integrated washer dryer with a freestanding version. Sadly lots of kitchens don’t have fitters who have even considered the future when the kitchen was put in.
It’s not that old a thing to have been using……especially in town:)
