It’s probably the Beko. NTC is ยฃ3.30, module ยฃ10.01 @ Connect. But it could just be connections. How can you go wrong?
Well you should watch out for sharp edges obviously!

But it appears a number of people think that’s okay, the manufacturer or warranty company picks up the tab and heh, if they write it off (in some cases hopefully so) then that’s okay too. No harm, no foul as no-one was injured and the cost of it just vanishes into the ether.
What I’m saying to you is, what if that isn’t the case? What if this stuff is begin monitored?
Well, if it wasn’t for a few “muppets” like that the cost of warranties could come down a bit and it would make it harder for us self-employeds to compete ๐ . So I’m all for properly skilled and motivated engineers moving into other trades or join the self-employed!

From those that drill great holes in the back of washing machine cabinets in order to access the motor bolts.
Oh for Chris’ sake!
About six years ago I drilled one eight millimetre hole in the back of a Bosch in order to be able to get my 1/4″ drive extension bar through and directly access the less accessible motor bolt with much less risk of personal injury. The technique worked a treat, was done with the total agreement of the customer, and I would do it again if I found a similarly tight installation.
The only part of that which equates to being a muppet is that I subsequently wrote about it in the TTE forum and suffered the kind of playground abuse some of you are giving each other here.
I have never worked for a WP nor for a manufacturer and I don’t ever want to get involved with any of that sh**.
I did think of attending a meeting once. But happily the travel involved dissuaded me.

Well, I don’t do it that way, so there’s my lesson for today.
Not sure why that would blow anything though, unless you missed ๐ .
You are sounding like a very well-informed elctronics wizard these days Martin. Have you thought of offering to conduct the training Ken’s been pondering?

Clever stuff. I learn something new every day here.
Went back and fitted new lock to this one today anyway and it runs fine.
Only ever recall having this problem with Hoover/Candy but maybe I didn’t succeed so much with bridging locks on many other electronics as when the lock’s gone on them it’s so often taken the board with it :rolls: .

Thanks Dave, Some very useful stuff there and I have hardly begun to read it yet.
I seem to remember a thread entitled something like, “Worst kitchen installations.” Your last post deserves to be in there!

Dave, did you ever find out what was wrong with this one as I’ll probably be going to look at one with similar fault symptoms later this week. Would be handy to borrow that service manual too!

Did you upset the pressure switch by tilting m/c? Or flow meter (if has one) not cutting off water? Or maybe that new circulation pump is faulty?

ParticipantRe: Indesit IS60V – slow uptake turning then running normal
Sometimes the odd value like 7.5uf will come up as genuine only at an OTT price. 8uf is more than near enough to cover these. A meter with direct capacitance measuring is useful as it will confirm if the old one’s down.
If that doesn’t sort it, don’t forget what Chris said about bunged up front seal.

Capacitor approx. ยฃ2. Very prone to failure.
Motor, I dunno’ what? ยฃ50? On the rare occasions they fail, they usually do so with a burning smell and pack up completely.
So you’re not going along with a motor just in case? ๐ Is this a 50 mile trip or something?
