Yeah, I just checked that. That’s what comes up when you put in the new number.
Qualtex system isn’t much use for info if you don’t have part no. from elsewhere. Just put in model no. all it came up with was two heater elements.

At 4:51 he adjusts something sitting up to his right which knocks down the motor speed. I think it must be a variac. So that’s how it was done. Concrete weights had been removed from tub and looks like the base of the cabinet was nailed to the pallet. Not sure whether the eco-ball had been left in or not 😛 .

Apparently Ken is planning a surprise for the meeting. 😆

Mike.Hmm.. well the webshop does. But since I can’t get the webshop to work today, I had to ring. After a while I get put through to the local service centre in Redruth where they have the price as £6.72 🙁 . Oh well, gone with that but shows it’s not just the wholesalers who have it all cock-eyed.

Obviously more than just the interlock that had been bypassed there! Not quite sure how it was done as the drum began to build up speed as though it was module controlled yet carried on going long after front panel had gone and I could not see a power module at all.

Mike.Hmm. Think I’ll try an email. Lux have thermistor ntc 1242940102 > 3792171112 at £4.48 inc. vat.
Connect is £23.72 + vat and SRP £40.52.
Qualtex meanwhile £18.97.
They’re obviously a bit out of touch.
Maybe someone could take these threads along to the meeting?

Have rung customer as was thinking of popping in tomorrow. He’s going to try putting on a fan heater in there and if that doesn’t work I’ll order the ntc.. Had thought by now this might have attracted some more comments about trade vs. retail prices.
P’raps I’ll find the Connect prices thread and add it on to that.

You mentioned cold garage and as you know if it gets to +5C or lower the dryer ain’t gonna play anyway. So maybe that’s the problem?
Well, I didn’t know that although I’d read about an issue somewhere with some t/dryers or other. I doubt it was that cold mind you, we have got the Gulf Stream keeping us relatively warm down here 😀 . If I can’t think of anything else, I’ll try substituting in a 5k6 resistor such as I carry around for module repairs. That should make it “think” it’s summer and OK to start working again. If not that, I think I might pass them on to serviceforce, as I can do without these headaches.

Those values I found for ntc are a bit lower than would be expected according to manual although I didn’t actually measure temperatures. Is it likely that a thermistor would go faulty in such a way as to give 20 to 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} lower resistance readings than expected?
Also, approximately what temperature range would be “expected” in the front vent there where the air has just been drawn through the drum?
New ntc is getting on for £25 at Connect and I’m sure I’d never use it if it turned out not to be needed here.

Wot? You finished all them bearing changes and back for lunch already?
If the stuff didn’t clog up the eco ball, it would clog up something else; filter, sink waste spigot / non-return valve or whatever. Admittedly those are easier to get at. The real problem IMO is people with shaggy dogs, rabbit hair pullovers and colourcatchers.
Must be a real challenge to design a machine to accomodate all variations of customer misbehaviour 😛 .
Actually the rubber flap on the WMA pumps are less susceptible to problems :duck: and are at least better than nothing from the separation point of view.
Yes, Ecover pongs when it’s not rinsed away properly. Still, I prefer that to no fish in the river. And the microbes are perfectly able to eat normal washing powder too judging by the smelly washers I’ve come across.

Well bung in a lock to try it first. It’s a lot cheaper.

I agree with Martin that it should be left in if possible. The reason it doesn’t seem to make any difference to most customers is because they haven’t got a clue about detergent dosing and just slosh it in liberally (powder or liquid, “look at this huge box I got at Lidl’s for a fiver!”) or add an extra tablet if there’s a bit of mud on Jimmy’s football kit. To the few careful customers who RTM and dose their Ecover accordingly, it probably would save them twenty quid a year and their washing should smell a little better as there’s that extra barrier between the tub and the sink waste .

Nope. I thought it might be on mediator (Connect) but only a load of service bulletins for this model as far as I can see.
I daresay a manual from a related model might serve, if you have the patience to look through the list.
This model has an inverter board apparently. That board contains high voltage capacitors apparently…
Could be worth a cautious look.

There’s usually a notice down there somewhere stuck to the cabinet saying something about what to replace when. Easy to not read it if you’re not looking for it.
