The junk on the market is in response to consumer demand for budget products, RRP drops so then does production costs.
The consumer is responsible, not the producer, but a fair system balances between the two.
At the end of the day high end products with 10 yr warranties are available to all.
In my humble opinion forcing consumers to buy a longer lasting product is more logical.
Being a free market we cannot dictate a clients option, well not directly, but it would be a great advantage if govts could control more of the market demand.
The market is swamped with products, this should be reduced more with bigger controls through the EU preventing importation from China.

He has got a point, it should be shared through all involved.
The UK has a very poor record in this matter, so our voice is not as strong as it could or should be.
Its about time the recommended retail price was re- introduced and a standard brought in for all on pricing, reduce the amount of models available and sort out the prices for spares, make spares only available to registered trade companies that prove their following WEEE or other directives.
But that isn’t likely to happen, no matter what the cost to the planet market forces and profitability will always dictate the future.

ParticipantRe: Which Report Recommends Beko!
I love Beko.
But I don’t sell them.
I just repair them.
Good company to get in with as there heading for market leadership and are spreading far and wide.

For a certain company…………..
“We have the biggest Tools in Britain” 😆

ParticipantRe: Bosch integrated washer; which one?
If its EU made….
Could be From the La Cartuja Factory in Spain.
Could be from the Lódz factory in Poland.
Could be from the Çerkezköy factory in Turkey.
Could be from the Berlin or Nauen factories in Germany.
I believe those shown are from the Nauen factory, the main difference between them is the amount if insulations stuffed inside.
Or they could have shipped Chinese components from there Swan site in China and had them assembled anywhere.

I had my boiler serviced today, I knew he was coming and removed surrounding bits and pieces and left room for him too work, took me arouns 3 minutes.
Sooo why dont people take there crap from under the sink or from in front of, or the surrounding area before I arrive.
Drives me mad.
Everyday. 😡

ParticipantRe: Alias Haier
Haier cannot control the intergration of there appliances, so not an issue, if any intergration isn’t done correct its not difficult to spot and explain to client before removal.
80{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of my day is intergrated, I have no issue.
Like as stated it would be easier to list the companies not made by Haier, you may well have worked on many without knowing.
If not the complete machine many components are shared.
As for Beko they are utter rubbish, yet there on course to be the largest group in Europe within the next few yrs on all sectors, I believe there refrigeration is the currently the market leader with around 56{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} European Fridges sold.
I did step back in time today and repaired an English Electric (Hotpoint 95 Series) washer with worn brushes, that stretched my skill levels, take me days to recover from that trauma.

ParticipantRe: Integrated Microwaves
From memory Neff intergrated M/W’s are built by Panasonic and are the same dimensions as most of the free standing ones, the only difference being the intergration kit, which doesn’t justify the + £500 price tag.
I believe even a £30 micro from Tesco will feet without an issue to the intergration kit.

ParticipantRe: contract work
Sorry can’t say, its a secret as I’d like to keep the work coming to me rather than the competition.
From what I gather Beko is a good option as there growing into the UK best seller in all sectors, whether the well known brands will allow that to continue I don’t know.
Electrolux could have competed, but they feel there brand name is good enough to sell more and frankly there snobs, they would not want Beko type clients buying there products.
Although there recent trip to China may well change there minds.
Repaircare great if you want to remain busy and poor.
JTM great if you want to go insane.
0800 perfect if you have no business sense and like to look like a muppet.

ParticipantRe: Alias Haier
Why would you avoid one of the worlds largest appliance companies ?
There crap for sure, but repair is our game and I’m damned if such crap will make me afraid.
You may find it easier to list the appliances that arn’t Haier originals. 😉

ParticipantRe: People who don,nt want to pay
Never never call without tellin there is a callout charge and when there never fix anything without informing them of the fault and the cost too rectify it.
Imagine your a client, would you be happy letting someone free on your property without knowing what there doing and what it will cost you.
I certainly would not.
Its basic thinking.
Although not in this industry it seems, I’m constantly being told by clients that the repair guy they last used was a muppet.
I had one on Monday, sent out to fix a coffee m/c that had 4 previous visits and now the client is refusing to allow the company guy back in the house, he was of the impression that his lack of knowledge and inability to do basic fault finding was the clients fault and treated them with contempt, too which they took exception.
There are many dishonest clients who will drop a good engineer into an issue not of his making, but there are also as many who cannot do simple communication which will keep the client and ultimetly you sweet.
Explaining call and labour charges need to be agreed before any work is carried out, legally your on shaky ground, if you don’t agree a price before carrying out work the law could agree you accepted to do the work for free or for a negotiated price, a judge would not be happy listening to your case if you failed to do this.

ParticipantRe: Is it me OR I’m missing something
I had some clever person show me how effective a paint tray used for rollers would be a good idea.
I kinda agree, it would be nice to have various cloths, trays etc etc.
But I don’t like the smell of mould or scummy water mixed with bacteria in my vehicle, it can stink over time.

ParticipantRe: Fridge talking to Washing Machine
I remember the Beckhams bought Electrolux F/F products with similar capabilities.
Although I fear they may have returned them when they went faulty. 😆
