I have seen a few do this. The blockage removed but refuses to begin again. Normally reprogram the module and it fires back o life as normal.

It’s like it gets stuck with a fault.

Would suggest leaving unplugged overnight, then before turning back on put in 1.5lt of water turn on and start the fast wash then see what it does. I can take sometime to fully reset so just leave it for a while.

Adding time to a wash can be normal behaviour if it does complete by its self.

Adding time is done because the machine has not been able to complete the full cycle in the original amount of time. As has been said slow filling or draining will cause it. As will a scaled up heater, unbalanced loads also contribute.

You say its taking twice as long? How much time to each program ?

You can download a standard one from the HSE website and complete the boxes with you relevant info.

That’s what I did for the last ones I needed.

Basically all you are stating is who is responsible for what could happen and maintaining equipment.

The machine won’t do anything if the door lock has failed or the door is not correctly closing. You say the door is not closing rite so this would indicate the possible location of the fault.

A solid light means its still in cycle, You should be able to reset it by either holding the power or program button for 3 seconds. You should hear a series of beeps.

The simple fact is there are no easy things to check with a dishwasher. Specialist tools and knowledge are needed, years spent working on them helps.

Save your self time and hassle and call some one.

I would agree that some may well have profited from the situation and, perhaps or even likely not exactly on the right side of being morally correct but they’ve only salvaged what they could from it. From what I can tell it would appear that OpCapita set it up so they couldn’t lose and chose to sink it so that they didn’t walk away with nothing.

But I would assume, like MFI and others, that greedy landlords had a part to play by being intransigent.

Government wanting their cut of the proceeds through taxation both direct and indirect with the likes of fuel prices.

Banks and finance houses wanting their cut.

All the while customers are demanding lower and lower prices and Comet are forced to try to compete with new entrants like DRL as well as long time high street rivals from the independent sector and Currys and getting squeezed there from Argos, the supermarkets and so on that have drifted into electricals.

Higher costs + lower margins = well, we all know don’t we?

My point being that to lay ALL the blame at the door of the company’s management is perhaps a bit naive in part as there were a lot of pressures on the Comet business just as they are on everyone else, us included.

The general public, most of whom have not a clue how hard it is to run a business and the often naive “black and white” view reinforced by the media simply don’t understand or dumb it down. The way that they often appear to do that is to find a scapegoat so that they only have one target to go at, with companies that’s usually the person at the helm, even if there was bugger all that they could do about the situation.

    K.

Don’t come on here and talk sense, there is no place for this unbiased and likely true opinion.

    Lol

Ir test it at the mains plug with everything connected (earth to live, earth to neutral). If its above 2 then plug back in and run until it trips the perform the same test again. At this point one would hope its below 2, then disconnect each component until you find what’s dragging it down.

If its below 2 before you start then again disconnect as above until you find it.

Reading the level of deaths involved its 8 for the cookers and at least 1 for the fridges its astonishing how low key this still is.

One manufacture has directly caused the death of at least 9 people, how they are still allowed to trade I don’t know,

This must prove that they are cutting corners in r&d, safety testing and compliance.

We all moan about various brands for exploding drums, melting dishwashers ect but in general most seem to have there problems under control, certinatly not seriously injuring people.

Beko seem to be getting worse.

Yep you will be fine the 755 is the direct replacement is a far better lock and just fit two screws, Recommend you cutoff the plug and crimp connectors to all three wires, its a common issue that the plug has 1 contact inside each one and it does not make a good connection with the blade in the lock, it it overheats and melts.

newer models are fitted with connectors with 2 sets now to prevent this.

In that case its likely the board if all the wiring is fine. I often fining the door lock takes the board out.

In fact had this very thing today.

Worth checking you did wire it correctly as this plug is reversible on some locks.
