70 m ohms is not low it’s good 😕 Have you checked the PCB for dry/burnt joints around the heater relay?

Get an impellor jug, as you know they are prone to failure. Iv’e had one only last a week. Nip the connecting plug up a bit as well

Being a bit polite about this rubbish Martin 😆
It’s the first time that I have been to this machine but what I gather from the customer it’s had a new heater/timer card/dispenser fitted by Hotpoint, totaly reliable.

I still need to get to the bottom of this hose issue, I think I need the need the service manual, I will give Jim a PM and see what he has 🙂

Anyway, this village got converted to underground electric supply in 2006, so would I be right in assuming her house would now be a TN (PME) system?

Could be, but difficult to identify if your not used to it, not a good idea to assume anything

Re: Supply Point Earth Loop Impedance Testing

The nephew must be the same pratt who phoned me a couple of weeks ago and asked me to keep my opinions to myself. I’m an electrican he anounced, your just an washing machine repairer and I should stop frightening customers. 👿 That realy got my back up. Basically “the” electrician had changed the earthing type to the property from PME (old money)now TNCS to TT(Earth rod)his mistake which I informed him was that he hadn’t issued a certificate, and changed the labeling at the earth source. He got a bit of a shock when I pointed this out and that I am also an electrician in my past life.
The Earth Loop reading I took was over 120 ohms, for PME earthing it sould generaly less than 0.87ohms for socket outlets. As he had installed a seperate earth rod system(TT)then 120 ohms is OK , less than 200 ohms is acceptable.
My final one was to ask him if he was registered with Niceic, as I would need his number to have a word with them about the non certification issue. Just a “washing machine repairer” in deed.
How to win friends and influence them :rolls:

    Re: More New Faulty Elements

Had this problem a few years back, first with elements from Parts Center, then Mpart 😕 All meggered OK when cold, ten minutes into drying insulation dropped to nearly short circuit. I fitted one of Connects last week with no problems, but I shall be watching.

    Thanks Geoff

On looking through the info I came across part no. 4410101001 which is cutout and wiring. I presume that this kit will cover for both top and bottom cutouts, am I right? 😕

180724 I presume? 😉 now it’s Bosch DW drain hoses.
Mice/rats bless their little socks, good earner come the autumn.

I have a customer (regretfully) who can only be described as as wealthy fat slobs (probably politically incorrect).I wish there was another to describe them but this is the truth 😳 First time I went to the property the builders were in fitting a new kitchen and a new ceiling, the guys pointed out the rat runs that were in the ceiling, straight from above the cooker extractor to the rest of the house. Now this house is only 10 years old. New kitchen fitted two years ago, mice and rat dropings still behind the DW.
The biggest laugh is that they own 5 cats all as fat and lazy as the owners.
Last visit I made was to the DW, they had left me the usual dishwasher soup, two weeks old 👿 . I opened and closed the door and advised her to bail it out and disinfect, then clean the filters out. Never heard from them since, posted them a bill and they have payed up 😕 Either I’m the only daft sod who will go to their house or they were sent here to torment me 😳

    Pass me another invoice!
