ParticipantRe: Hoover D/W HD98E Problems – With Timer Underneath
laurenceuk wrote:Hi,
This machine has a PCB in the control panel and a timer underneath –
never seen this type before. The problem is that the machine starts ok – empties then fills and begins
the wash but the spraying stops after about 15secs. The machine is then
silent but will continue on through the prog doing everything except
spraying the water. All the components work: recirc motor, drain pump, heater, inlet valve –
everything.I am pretty sure that it is this timer that is causing the problem.
Can anyone confirm this?
Can anyone advise as to whether there is anyone who can repair or
exchange as they are very expensive – they come as a timer/PCB
combination?EMW don`t do them.
Thanks
Laurence

I have nailed it down to three types, 082603405, 082603412 and 082603405. the trouble is that no wholesaler have photos of them and some of them are “specials” π― you would think they would get their act together, I have been looking for this part for nealy two weeksmaltheviking

Itβs better if you stretch the belt prior to fitting as this makes quite a difference.
I fit the belt over the drum and motor pulley and then lift up the drum.
At this point I find copious amounts of swearing helpful.I keep a new fan just in case, as you say the beggers seize on.
yes the swearing is well apparant.
Cant quite understand the mentality in fitting these stretch belts, far to much downward pressure on the bearings, same problem with the Indeshyt range. Motor shaft tends to rust if the machine is not used for a while and the belt sticks to it, snaps when started again.maltheviking

Had a real bummer a couple of weeks back. I got called in to repair a ceramic hob fitted in a marble worktop. First thing I noticed was that there was no clamps on the underside π― and that the hob had been sealed in with silicon.
My first assesment was the correct one although customer was a bit miffed, I advised her to get the kitchen people back to get it out as I was not willing to take the responsibilty. Told to give me a ring when it had been removed.
Got the phone call a week later advising me not to call back π―
turned out the kitchen fitter managed to smash the ceramic top and the whole unit would have to be replaced :rotl: bet the new one won’t be siliconed in πmaltheviking
