Was there any sign of water on the motor? they can leak from drum half seal down on to the motor. Do yourself a favour and right it off as N.E to Repair

Hi Jim
We used to a have a system in this area that was called “Electretec” where every circuit in the house was controlled by a relay from a central control unit; the relays were all in a box next to the consumer unit. Has your daughter got a similar system? if so then the immersion heater relay sounds to be at fault, may have a loose or burnt contact. If I remember correctly the relays were low voltage control BUT obviously mains voltage to the contacts

Hi Greg
Yep the motor was my first thought “so I whipped it out” :rolls: after checking it out via the loom. Brushes/ armature were fine, continuity ok
BUT I still have a niggling doubt about it under power ๐ as I hear a relay kick in just before the alarm, could also be a traic. I need the diagnostics to confirm especially at the price of the motors and boards ๐ฏ

Dave.
And do they ever listen to advice. You go back to an appliance that you repaired in the past and notice that they still havn’t had that “damaged ” socket outlet or faulty wiring fixed that you made a point of endorsing on your previous invoice. ๐ก

If you take the front panel off and check the module (Front right behind panel) for dry joint/s ๐ worth a look.
GregHi Guys Had one of these a couple of weeks ago not sure if it was the same model, as Greg says check the PCB, mine had a dry joint, I think it was on the relay. Bit of a begger to see though it was just a hairline crack ๐

Cold calling, try this one ——- part way through the conversation just whisper in a seductive voice “and what are you wearing today” :rolls: this usually does the trick male or female they either call you a pervert and put the phone down or you may have an interesting conversation ๐
