Any other suggestions? Thanks 🙁It sounds as if it’s seized or jammed, get the motor out again and see if the pump vane rotates, and look for any foreign bodies inside it, double check the cap. 😉
Who said I before E except after c ❓ Two words 😉

Thats it Martin, that’s why I have asked the customer to contact Hotpoint, I await the reply to see what bulls*it they come up with 😉

Update on this one.
Fitted a new door seal, problem still there! have advised the customer to get Hotpoint in as I think this is a design fault. The seal does not make contact with the door fully.
Hotpoint have altered the seal by cutting away the “feather edge”of the seal, approx 50mm from each end. I understand this is to stop “back pressure” 😕 mmmm. IMO the overflow turret inside the d/w should take care of any pressure, it,s open to the base, OR is this the reason that these beggers flood into the base? and NOT all the excuses that Hotpoint are giving to customers 😯 😕The customer is going to get back to me after HP, s visit, so watch this space 😉

I would double check the door seal, wipe the door and seal dry, and run the machine. Then switch off and open the door carefully a look for water around the door. Usually if water is getting past the seal there should be an increase of noise from the water in the tub, push the door and listen when it is washing for a change of sound. 😉

ParticipantRe: Creda Tumble Dryer rear bearing/shaft
Thanks Wilf
This baby has got a bronze bearing not the old polypenco type. I am not sure if the bronze one is standard or a special 😥

Hi Martin
Miele obviously only take on electrial engineers who will have done the 16th, not a bad standard to go with. 😉

Martin wrote: Free estimates as Ken says is a mugs game and your ‘customer’ is taking you for one. 👿
We all know there is very little in this life that is free 😕 unless someone knows different
I could not justify free estimates, an average of 15 miles per call, the time taken to drive there only to be told by the appliance owner ” thanks for the estimate” I will let you know. So they call the next guy out who does free ests. Find out he gives a similar quote and gives him the job, or rings you up to do the repair, another journey. If you don’t get the repair Muggings has lost income and wasted his time, which he could waste doing something he enjoyed. 😈
One free piece of advice that was given to me years ago was that you work all hours you can, so what is your spare time worth? What is the point of working what could be up to one day a week giving free estimates 😯
My philosophy is to have the customer know where you stand, a set charge plus spares for a repair, if they decide not to have the repair done you still charge. We are professionals in this industry and time is valuable. 😉 It works for me and generally most of my customers appreciate what I do and a level playing field 😉

I have usually not been a fan of fitting none genuine spares. Several years ago I bought 10 sets of copy brushes, three of the first five sets fitted, melted, I binned the rest. 😥
Standards must have gone up since that episode so I shall try some of the copies again and see what happens, nothing to loose with the crap Hotpoint are supplying 😉 watch this spacemaltheviking
