We figured that as if it wasn’t then no water at all would enter the fill matrix. I was referring to the small solenoid valve at the bottom.

Circulation heat pump is a major source of problems. The heater very poorly designed. Though if you recon it is OK, without sufficient water it wouldn’t work anyway.

Collectively it is difficult to specify or pin point the problem here. It could be one fault or a combination
of failings. You just have to eliminate any possibility.

Start by replacing that reed switch then reset the programme and go from there.

The joys of DIY eh? 😡

This heater heats the zeolite canister, and thus it should be completely unrelated to water supply issues, correct? Also the machine does “top up” when it senses the motor is running lean, so it’s not like it’s running dry half the time.

The zeolite relates to the drying cycle so it is unrelated to the fill issue. A new reed switch may well sort out that problem. Low water pressure can be an issue and you might want to check the water outlet valve at the bottom of the heat exchanger/fill matrix.

I doubt it Paul. It is a bayonet fit for sure like your Smeg pump but the Neff uses a different connector block and that block is front facing unlike the Smeg. 🙁

    Re: sale of small business

It depends on the assets of the company. If bricks and mortar are part of the deal then that could well be a valuable asset. If the potential purchaser has to take on existing rental commitments then chances are slim. If existing trained staff are willing to continue employment with the new buyer then prospects of a sale are better. If it’s just a sole trader deal then it’s not worth much, perhaps worse still nothing. If a local competitor would like to purchase the goodwill and customer database then a few quid might be sought.

In essence it’s either a nice pension pot or pull down the shutters and goodnight all!

Anything new that has any failings at all only show up once you’ve bought it. Direct drive is a caution as LG pioneered it years ago. It works true enough but when the drum bearings fail so does the motor directly behind! Samsung? I’ve no clue but they feature on here a lot when owners seek help.

Either the condenser is blocked with fluff or, more commonly, the water is not flowing through it. I’m putting my money on the latter.

The fan motor is the most likely culprit but it’s costly at almost £100. The selector switch that controls the fan could also be the reason it’s intermittent. That is far cheaper to replace. 😉

Go for it then Steve, if capacitors are your thing then why not eh, what’s there to lose? We in the trade are somewhat cautious though about messing with something that isn’t faulty. And I personally wouldn’t advise doing anything. Far better you hold back your obvious talent until such times as you have just reason to suspect something may be wrong with that PCB. We can help you out easily with all other matters associated with washer dryers so do come back if and when something goes wrong. 😀

Two possibilities, either the door interlock connections have burnt out or the main power board has failed. But that’s not to overlook the fact it failed during the drying process and therefore the dryer PCB or that darned dryer heater has something to do with it? 😕

In your original post you told us that the machine “hangs” which presumably means the timer drive motor isn’t working. Have you powered up that motor since to see if it works?

Agreed, just rotate the cam until you see the screw heads. Simple enough. The problem of then fixing the timer not so. 🙁
