The rotary selector control and its circuit board may need replacing. You haven’t spilled water down the control panel at any point recently? Or is it located in an outbuilding or damp environment?

Re: Enquiry on blown oven knob

That’s a tough ask to mediate to be honest. From your statement it appears that they may have overlooked the outlying problem from the start. But that is pure speculation for my part based on my experience in this trade.

The overall cost is mounting all the while and the solution offered by the repairer unconvincing. I don’t buy the “ bad timing” explanation.

What is the make and full model number of this appliance anyway!

Too bad you didn’t mention that earlier to prevent the banging on about commercial usage stuff. 😉

Look then toward removing the drum and greasing the front roller shafts. The main drum shaft and the jockey pulley. Check also the motor belt drive grooves are clear of burnt rubber.

It is a 1992H7 belt you are replacing isn’t it?

MacandKaty wrote:From what you guys say, it should be designed it to stop the cooling at 5C with a thermostat, even when ambient temp is below 16C. Is that right?

    Correct

Contact Currys again. They are the one responsible for dealing with a replacement. Insist on a second opinion if necessary. Pure logic would tell them that a cooler that is set in ambient below the temperature setting of the unit and the unit will not run.(i.e never go below the ambient temperature.)

These control boards are built like brick outhouses. Solid and reliable to the nth degree. Hardly any point in messing with it until you can establish what caused it?

I would say so yes. Maybe the fault is within the main circuit board? The heater relay on that board perhaps?

Not in the least Bryan, but the “Belling engineer” certainly is! That cooler is faulty AND under 6 months old so should be replaced. Get back to Currys.

Re: Belling Wine Cooler Freezing and Exploding Wine Bottles

I feel so much better after reading this for choosing a thermoelectric wine cooler instead of the compressor type. Such critical ambient temperatures you describe would not cause such a catastrophic outcome. Loosing an expensive collection of fine wines in this way disastrous.

My wine coolers range is 5 – 21C so in a typical domestic environment only the higher ambient temperature is a concern. Hence why I keep mine in the cooler part of the house I call my ‘wine cellar’ (under the stairs) 😀

Sounds like bra wire or some such foreign object caught between drum and outer tub to me.

Well I’ve just checked the site using that link and it’s all there, schematic diagrams, part no’s and all.

OK, just give me the FULL ENr number if your machine. Do you want the control module that sits on the metal plate above the tub?
