I wonder what this month’s ‘hits’ have been with the banner ad?

Keep heat away from the fridge but heat the room instead. It’s better to purchase a small low wattage greenhouse style fan heater that has a ‘Frost setting’ on it. Leave it switched on and whenever the temperature falls below a certain point, the fan heater switches on for a while 💡

Not a great idea really, better to purchase a small low wattage greenhouse style fan heater that has a ‘Frost setting’ on it. Leave it switched on and whenever the temperature falls below a certain point, the fan heater switches on for a while 💡
patr wrote:I’m also still wondering what is the purpose of heated side walls on some frezzers?
Usually to prevent the door seal sticking 😉

NeilB wrote:I’m a little bemused by the problem as I would have thought the insulation was there to prevent room air from condensing regardless of the ambient air temperature
The insulation is there purely to minimise temperature loss from within the appliance and not without. Condensation forms on the outside surface of any appliance (including things like double glazing) capable of heat retention not just fridges and freezers.
+10 degrees Celsius is recognised by most refrigeration manufacturers as the cut-off point to guarantee minimal atmospheric reaction to the dreaded “dewpoint”. Below that temperature and you’ve got yourself a problem. 🙁

Hearing the motor spinning……..???? :con:
…but not seeing then eh?
Have you not put the belt back on?

I guess your machine has a Timer/Module board fitted then rather than a seperate motor control module? If that is the case then that Timer/module may well have an ‘out of balance’ detection system causing this fault or further bad contacts to it need checking out maybe?

ParticipantRe: Neff integrated dishwasher not washing properly
Insufficient water or a blockage in the water system the more usual reason for these symptoms. Needs a good service to check it out fully (see link below) if cleaning filters and spray arms fail to rectify.

Certainly not!
Yell.com wrote:Prices start at £560 a year (plus VAT)
I created my own simple but effective web pages for about £200 several years ago now (4yrs I think?). That included going to PC World and buying M/S Frontpage 2000 software, buying a URL and getting someone to host my site for me. So by my calculations I have saved over £2000 on Yells (***???&&&!!!) prices in that time. Check my website out and you will see the lay-out is just like many templates on M/S Word…
…..it works for me AND my site gets top listing on most search engines (very important) 😉 (e.g. Type in washing machine repair in berkshire – see who comes out on top)

funkyboogy wrote:…..can you get these site builders elsewhere ie a down load version???
If you have M/S Word loaded on your PC you can mess around with several web page templates and create you own web page/s. It’s a good learning tool to familiarise yourself with at least! 🙂

ParticipantRe: Ariston W/D AV1048CUK
I think the Module just controls the motor on this model and the Interlock fed via the Timer/Pressure switch? Un-plugging Module will prove one way or the other 😉
Possibly an earth leak somewhere causing the interlock to be energised perhaps 💡

ParticipantRe: UKW Subs Funding – the future?
I had difficulty accessing RAF Odiham and RMA Sandhurst due to increased security measures in place since 9/11. Queueing up at the Guard Room with others wanting access, they would only accept company letterheads and/or Driving Licences for ID accompanied with confirmation of an Internal Contact. I knocked up my own ‘Photo ID Card’ on my PC and put it in a plastic credit card wallet and that was good enough for them and there it sits in my wallet in case I get another call at those 2 establishments.
Outside of those 2 examples where a bodged up card worked for me, I have never ever been asked by anyone in all my 40 years in the trade, to show my ID. 🙄
If you want to spend a few quid on cards for your engineers though why not try here:-
