ParticipantRe: bosch wff 2000
Several possibilities here, pump worn out and sticking, water level sensor blocked, motor needs attention. No big deal overall but I would advise seeking professional help in the form of a local engineer to call in and sort it for you 😉

Turning the stopcock down will help but most likely the dispenser top needs dismantling and descaling. A bit tricky to access to say the least and if you are unsure as to tackle such a job, why not call on a local repairman to sort it for you? Click on this link for one in your area : Repairs@

ParticipantRe: Creda Excel Dryer Model T602CW – leaking
It’s usually caused by an ill fitting seal (‘O Ring’) on the water container allowing water to trickle under that container and out through the front. Is that where the water is found (i.e mostly under the water container?)

The impossible we do straight away, miracles take somewhat longer my friend. Lets just see which category your problem falls into on this task eh? So do please explain to us the problem you are having first of all 😉

ParticipantRe: malber 460 inox washing machine
Well blow me down, I’ve just returned from a holiday in Cyprus (last Sunday in fact)…very nice place you have there. It did rain on Sunday though so I figured I would come home 😀
Anyway, I suspect the item in question is in fact a ‘Mains Filter/Suppressor Unit’ and that 4 wires are attached to it and possibly an earth terminal as well (Live & Neutral in and Live & Neutral out).
If that is so? Then the rated value printed on the size will make little or no difference whatsoever and you are OK to fit the new one in place I reckon

ParticipantRe: A sign of the times?
Gentlemen,
Please take time for a moment to realise that WE are all in this together for better or for worse. To use the DASA AGM as a topic of conversation is all very well and good and has (as no doubt was the intention?) flushed out those directly involved in DASA to comment after what, for the most part, has been a long time coming. Although (IMO) they, with some justification, have shown great decorum in so doing.
How I long for the day that all respect the principles of DASA and that they in turn adopt a more meaningful policy of unification within the trade for the benefit of all. Had they made an open invitation for all to attend their AGM, I am sure many would have taken an interest and stuck their heads around the door?
Lest we forget, DASA do represent this our trade, DASA are the only officially recognised body within it. So why don’t all interested parties bang their heads together over this fact and at least form some common ground?
So for starters, how about DASA publish the minutes of their recent AGM on this site for us all non-members to chew over? After all their recent meeting was for the most part, behind closed doors! Let us all in on your thoughts, hopes and aspirations and I guarantee a meaningful debate will ensue. 🙂
OK, let’s get real here, I know full well that will not happen. And that unless one is a signed-up member, nothing of the sort will be forthcoming.
So the conclusion here and the stand-off solution I reckon, is that DASA use this site directly as the only effective means to inform those outside their association of their aims and intentions. To pose questions and invite debate in a specially allocated forum. Free and open debate on all aspects of the trade to then put to the committee and instigate whatever is their conclusions.
Thereafter many and possibly a greater majority will unite rather choose, what at the moment at least seems apparent, to simply criticise and ignore. 🙁
Your call DASA 🙄

ParticipantRe: Really smart tumble dryers?
Drying without heat should surely be the goal when on realises that heat-pumps and thermo-sensor dryers rely on even more energy to operate?
After all, washing placed on the washing-line in a howling gale will dry very quickly and at very low temperatures and very low humidity. Therefore, with the existing size restrictions of modern tumble dryers, you simply need to increase the size of the fan and/or the free air flow to achieve the same result. But instead of needing 2.5Kw to dry a 5Kg load in 60 minutes….a nice big fan system and a 400 watt motor should do the trick in much less time. 💡
Nothing smart required !! 😉 Only issue I can foresee is, ‘noise’ might be the only problem, as hurricane force winds are a bit noisy 😀

ParticipantRe: Siemens Dishwasher not draining
The white ‘impellor’ should rotate freely with a simple flick of the finger, however it is connected to a magnetic armature so you will feel the poles resistance as you turn it. But if it turns at all easily, then it should be fine. Most problems are associated with food deposit and broken crockery blocking its movement and the channels alongside need careful inspection before refitting the cover plate.
The drain pump should be heard the moment you turn it onto the start of any programme, if not? The pump is at fault. If you can hear it running? Then the drain hose or its attendant coupling (to the waste outlet) are clearly at fault!

ParticipantRe: Dear BSH Man
491662 Control Module that fits a SGS43E08GB/43 dishwasher has what appears to be a blown IC Chip? (it’s alongside one of the 2 black relays and one of the legs has gone phut!)
I have replaced the module and the machine works fine now, but my worry is :- What the hell caused it to blow in the first place? All the components of the machine check out fine! Is this a known fault? 😕
Any help gratefully received 😀

What happens about parts out of stock on the Parts Center site? Are parts out of stock gone and lost forever from an order or do you operate a ‘backorders system?’

caligula wrote:Am I right in thinking that the door seal will have to come off again to effect a repair or replacement for the door switch?
Most door lock problems on that model are associated with the ‘Pecker Unit’ to the motor belt. If that is not engaging the belt correctly, the door won’t release. Also the white plastic ‘Door Latch Plate’ can cause similar engaging problems.
Full access to the Door Interlock Unit is only available having removed the front panel.
SWITCH OFF AND REMOVE THAT PLUG FIRST NOW! :zap:
