ParticipantRe: BOSCH HBN580650B/01 instruction manual
Virtually impossible obtaining a manual for this so perhaps it’s best you explain your problem over the controls as we a more likely to help you there.
You might like to download a photo of the control panel to assist us with any explanations.

ParticipantRe: Bosch SGS55002GB/01
I think you may have the model number slightly wrong there Lawrence. It is probably an SGS5002GB/02? In which case it doesn’t have a diverter valve and sprays water to both spray arms evenly. It’s old so most likely is that either the circ pump impeller is partially blocked or that it has split.

If only I could afford the time off Lawrence, but thanks for the offer anyway. 😀

I’d still insist on confirmation Peter. I remember the day Chris Chantrell (akaPenguin45) had to leg it back home when there were ‘no rooms at the inn’…..Jesus, Mary and Joseph he wasn’t too chuffed let me tell you!

ParticipantRe: Course Advice
First off the vast majority of potential white goods jobs require experienced engineers. Jobs that require individuals going out in a van unsupervised fixing various brands and types on a basic starting salary (average £18k).
Starting afresh from outside the trade is very limiting. Dixons do a basic course. More comprehensive might be had at the Whitegoods Training Academy. Outside of that is pretty rare indeed as the trade in general is (in my opinion) in decline.
I wish you well whatever.

ParticipantRe: Whirlpool to do a recall on Hotpoint dryers
The Daily Mail highlighted incident will be whisked away by Whirlpool. Likely as not the guy will receive a new dryer almost as quick as the old one is taken away. As for the ‘engineer’, well if he is a direct employee may get a ticking off, a contractor may see his workload dry up. All neatly swept under the carpet.
A Steve noted, just looking at the shady photos and there are many potential scenarios, including that questionable vent outlet. What if? The belt broke? The TOC was shorted out? The air inlet was blocked by falling debris? Any number of variables including one made up by the owner who’s guilt cannot be ruled out.
“Throwing water on the flames?” another sensationalist journalistic line. What friggin’ flames?
The good news is that this story won’t ever be the last. The media will be on to this like a rash. Pretty soon there’ll be more horror stories in the offing. When Watchdog comes back on air more drama will surely be played out.

The good news is….I think I know what’s happened. 😀
The bad news is……..you’ve most likely caused water damage to the Power Module by tipping it backwards.(You could get away with tipping earlier Bosch dishwashers backwards but sadly not on this the later series 🙁 )

Remove front plinth to access heater terminals. Right hand side panel to access Power Module. 90{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of time it’s the heater.

With the emphasis on the past tense, yes. Now the Yate factory only deals in factory ‘seconds’ and ‘end of line’ products for resale to trade and public alike.

Well I’m fresh back from my extended Christmas break and I see you’ve been busy Ken offering the benefit of your advice toward the gathering few. And your point will scarcely be overlooked I dare say but please be aware that many who take up the ‘work offer’ could well stand to gain from the opportunity.
The monies mentioned are negotiable and potentially lucrative given the ideal circumstances. Therefore it is fair to say that everyone is free to make up their own mind. It is after all a work offer and, in this day and age, shouldn’t be overlooked and rejected carte blanche.
