If by buying an Indesit you thought it was made in Britain you were seriously mistaken or indeed mislead at some point. 😉

Don’t forget, Indesit come in various guises namely Hotpoint, Creda, Whirlpool, Scholtés , New World, Cannon, GDA and Thorn (+ possibly others I’ve overlooked)

Yes that looks a great result Jim. May I ask, did he reseal the length of the joined seam or just the immediate area of damage?

They’ll probably want a forensic report from the Fire Service coupled with photographic evidence of the charred remains of what’s left of your house……But, seriously, it won’t catch fire if you adhere to the manufacturers cautionary advice. Including never leave your dryer unattended, unplug it from the mains if you are concerned and so on. All pretty straightforward and sensible precautions are the way forward.

kwatt wrote:I can see the logic in it Martin, it does actually make perfect sense to get rid of gas.
Stopping production of gas cookers yes. That will happen anyway as few manufacturers make them due to lack of demand. Stop producing them overnight and no-one will suffer as a better alternative is electric anyway.
Gas hobs and boilers, nah. No such effective alternative exists at this present time. The commercial world relies heavily on gas hobs for hotels, restaurants and factory canteens. In homes throughout the land 61{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} use a gas hobs but only 38{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} choose electric.
Replace gas boilers with electric? Heat pumps I suppose. They have to run 24/7 using electricity. They need to be huge units bolted to the floor. Ideally pumping water out of thermo drilled holes hundreds of feet below ground.
It’s a nonesense dreamed up by idiots spurred on by those ‘anti fracking’ nut cases.

Nope, that takes some beating for sure. I’m just trying to figure how someone would let you into their house unannounced open the fridge door and rip out the liner?
