bazza500 wrote:Have you ran the diagnostics to see what fault code you get?
You can’t access diagnostics when it’s a door lock error.
It is a 4 terminal solenoid type door lock on this so the lock will “click” anyway as that is the solenoid being activated. It doesn’t confirm the circuit is complete. You might want to engage the lock manually as Melec suggested. It could just be the connecting lead between the interlock and module that the fault lies.

It’ll be a heartache tonight yes I know he’s already gone but I can’t tell you why he did take it to the limit but I get that peaceful easy feeling that one of these nights he will take it easy in Hotel California meanwhile love for him and his music will keep us alive RIP ‘Lone Arranger’.

twicknix wrote:The said washing machine is in my possession with the view to repair, supposedly my wife could contact Bosch to get a repair on the ground she was given it? Or can the trade get cheaper tank for the machine via Bosch direct?
If the machine was registered by the original owners BSH would have those details including the suppliers name.
Most BSH registered traders have a 10 to 20{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} trade discount on spare parts.

Errr? Is there a ‘water block’ hose fitted to your machine? That’s a fill hose that fits on the stopcock with a large block on the end or has it just got a standard PVC fill hose?

But hey, let’s not get tangled up in misread posts as it serves no good. “Full training will be given” so they say, is their tag line. And after all it’s only a simple tumble dryer (metal box, drum, belt, motor, heater and controller) so how hard can that be eh? Just unscrew this and that and stick in this widget and a whatsitsname and, job done!
As I said earlier, it’s what we do! And the devil take the hindmost. 😉

Possible open circuit in the dryer valve coil?

ParticipantRe: Siemens IQ300 dryer WT36V395GB/14
There should be a good strong airflow coming out of the vent hose, if not there’s a blockage somewhere or the hose is kinked or it’s far too long. If all of that checks out OK then the Sensor (part no 00600157) will probably need replacing. And for that, unless you have good practical experience including the use of a soldering iron it may be better calling in a local repair person.

twicknix wrote: I had a look on the spare parts list, it appears to be a sealed drum (?). For a new tank is @£160, has anyone come across this? Does anyone know where to get cheaper tank?
Welcome to the wonderful world of modern Bosch appliances. If you can buy a sealed tub sub £160 then good luck on that.
twicknix wrote:Lastly. I can’t understand how can a £400 washer to have failed bearings after such a light use (two retired couples using twice a week) for 3 years in hard water area? The owner doesn’t skimp on cheap washing detergent, she uses well known brand like Persil, Ariel and the likes.
4 people using various brands of detergent in hard water, twice a week, various mixed loads, 3 yrs use before bearings flunk out, sounds par for the course. What possessed them to replace like for like defies logic but at least that 2year guarantee will offer some degree of security for them and put you in the clear.
If you get a chance to butcher open the sealed drum you will immediately spot why the bearings failed so easily. I guarantee you will see a dramatic build up of detergent/limescale AND clothing fibres in the immediate area of the water seal. Loose and broken cotton threads from towels, human hair, pet hair gather like a magnet in that area. Often caked thick on the drum spigot as well as. Ramp up the spin speed and in no time the bearings yeald to the pressure.
If fact the causes of failure between the unsealed and sealed drum is pretty much identical. The former suits the repairer, the latter suits the manufacturer especially so when they go out and by another….win win! 😉

Such a scenario has been mentioned over and over again on the Whirlpool thread anyway, it has and will always be the case. Given the ideal circumstances the ‘contract’ can be worth a punt or have the opposite effect and subsequent consequences. In essence that is the daily remit of every repairer in his/her lot, it’s what we do.

Those of you that rely on contract work must be sick to the teeth with these so called WP’s that give you work then dither big time over paying you. Weeks of waiting, money invested, worry over getting paid . They come and they go, they are the good guys one minute, bad guys the next.
There is an alternative, where you get paid on the spot and full markup of parts fitted. Such an alternative has been mentioned before though not well receive in certain quarters. But, and this is an important factor, time has proved its worth. The alternative has grown to become quite a force within the trade. More and more indies have joined its ranks.
I don’t do contract work so I can only observe from the outside as it were. I have no interest or dealings either way. One thing in all this is for sure that WP’s are a caution and doing work up front for them without getting paid has its risks.

ParticipantRe: zannusi td4212 916092302-01 poor drying
Condensation on the front lint filter would suggest you do have an airflow problem somewhere along the line. For the heater TOC to cut out so quickly suggests to me it’s the air inlet rather than the outlet causing the issue.
