Re: Indesit IS41V – drum not turning

Humming noise? Then it’s the motor capacitor that has failed and the burning smell is the motor windings gone up in smoke as well. 🙁

Drum turns OK but burning smell? Fluff on heater or something jammed in the drum or the belt shredding.

So, a number of options to try for there. 😀

Fair enough. Meanwhile on the BSH site look up part no :00263096 and read the attached service notice. (That is the .pdf I refer to)

I’ve looked further into this and it seems they have issued a modification notice pertaining to condensation problems. It comes as a .pdf file ( not sure if I can download this on this website?) The OP isn’t a registered trade member either (another possible issue here?)

Excellent news, do let us know if any problems crop up in the near future. Otherwise always heed the usual warnings, clean the lint filter after every load and never (but never) let it work unattended.

NTC fault probably. What have you checked so far?

That being the case, how does the slightly protruding head of a pop rivet placed in that specific position stop fluff built up? I suppose it would be too easy to have a recall where you just pop a rivet through the drum and that solves the problem without having to take it to bits and replace the backplate (and in many cases the old drum as well).

Some smart a r s e at some point must have had a ‘lightbulb moment’ and thought “Hold up, this ain’t gonna work as it still won’t stop lint build up………I know, let’s stick a pop rivet in the back of the drum somewhere!”

…………….”Oooh, and one more thing, on the video we must tell folks to take the fuse out of the plug and put it in a safe place in case some dozy cow plugs it in thinking it’s the kettle!!!”

What is the point of the rivet pray tell?

I was wondering if anyone has experience of this happening?

It’s not a Siemens known fault but rather an issue with the installation ( i e. Door not aligned properly, uneven floor, not levelled correctly)

You refer to this person as “customer?” Do I take it you’re in the trade? Have you installed this machine?

    Re: Electrolux Vacuum Cleaner

You might want to get the full model number and its PNc number as a Z161 comes up as a cylinder vac OR a fridge ??

You didn’t give us the model number as there’s 100’s of different ones but first, have you checked that the roller brush still rotates? If not the belt has come off or snapped.

Other than trying to identify the brand, what is the problem with the oven?

It does look like a bog standard fan oven and the controls are self explanatory, standard throughout most brands.

Oh dear, you can kiss goodbye then to this job paying up anytime soon. Flats, Council Houses, Shared accommodation, key left with neighbour or a quick favour for my mates mate are a no no without the security at least of card payment up front, during or before you leave the job.

Ain’t life a bitch, you can’t trust anyone can ya?

Replacing a 13amp wall socket is perfectly ‘legal’. You don’t need to be qualified in anything in order to replace it.

Re: Second-Hand Haier -HRN 176S Fridges

All stuff bought on Fleabay comes with an element of risk. This guy clearly shifts a lot of fridges but it is sold ‘buyer collects’ so if you’re the successful bidder you can see for yourself.

Just looking at the photo makes me think this guy gets back rental repossessions. Poor souls that can’t afford the weekly payments. All needs doing is take the stuff out of the fridge, unplug it and haul it to the lockup. 😉
