Don’t fret Ken, we’re getting used to it being slow. It gives me plenty of time between mouse clicks to wash the van or take the dog for a walk.

It was like one of those eSpares ‘how to fit it’ videos. Oh so simple, clinical workshop video, guy wearing rubber gloves and using an actual screwdriver. A monosyllabic narration guided you through the simple stages and effortless procedures required to guarantee success each and every time.

I think I can find a way to get access to this priceless production for others to enjoy. 😉

Re: Siemens dishwasher shows "tab"/pressure chamber

Your 2nd video no better. Didn’t see the critical point where the water reaches the top and should overflow into the tub. Instead you pointed the camera entirely on the pressure chamber. No BAFTA nomination from me I’m afraid.

Be that as it may, the water pressure is rubbish, clearly not on mains water but gravity fill supply I would say. Has the machine always operated on that poor pressure?

The problem seems to be that the outlet valve is not operating and needs replacing anyway.

Any more video and can I suggest you fix the camera for a full and static view of the whole water inlet matrix. 💡

Could be a fault with the inverter board? Have you taken it out to check it?

Yes of course, that’s the first and most important part of the job. Especially so as many appliances are switched on the neutral.

Lawrence wrote:If we come across a burnt socket we do tests on the appliance fit a new mains lead and tell them to get the socket replaced by a spark as they can test the integrity of the circuit that the socket is on.

Ah, well that’s where I go beyond. Having done a quick Martindale test then it’s out with the loop tester checking that all important integrity. Any issues there and I recommend my spark check it out, otherwise I change wall switches and sockets as a matter of course. But then I’m old school, been there done that and implement all necessary procedures in the process.

“Rules?” What are you on about Barry? There are safety procedures yes, but rules, nah!

That’s pretty poor water pressure then and explains in part why it took over 8 minutes to fill, or almost. I couldn’t see in that jerky video the point where it might have made it to the top as you then messed with the water full switch lever.

The heat exchanger outlet valve might also need checking. (That’s the one on the salt container to the right of the salt valve)

Oh come on now, enough of the “required safety standards” bull s h i t. The guy changes duff sockets, we all change duff wall sockets as a matter of course, it’s part of the job. He was only asking if he was still OK to do that. The answer is yes, this competent person, safety standards c r a p is all to ‘health and safety, hi viz, hard hats should be worn at all times nonsense.

“Ignorance is no defence in the law” yeah right, mind how you go!

You will need to check the water heating element’s terminal resistance. A duff heater will be open circuit.

What is the state of the water pressure anyway ( i e. how many seconds does it take to fill a 2 gallon bucket?)

Clearly you have a water pressure problem for starters. Normally that heater exchanger unit should fill within 2 mins. Have you checked and cleaned the water inlet valve filter?

It’s only available on the BSH partner website (trade website). If you have an account with BSH you should have access.
