Those door interlocks are a favourite weakness, you’d best carry a couple on the van as I do 😉 (Part No: 1249675107 or various patterns available)

It’s likely the fault is associated with a ‘water level control’ failure in some way. So the water level system will need some attention. 😉

I would advise consulting a local engineer to sort it for you though, as it’s not a DIY type job I’m afraid. We may have one in your area if you check here:Repairs@ 😀

Door Interlock fault (or in binary code = E41) 😉

In that case it most likely is the Door Interlock I would think?

Although I’m still worried about your first statement that :

On your machine there are 2 variants ‘Door Interlocks’ the earlier type is black and Part No: C00011140 and the later one is grey and is Part No C00085194.

If you want to take a chance and fit a new one then you may order by email to : spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk stating the correct part no 😉

    Re: ariston margherita A1635

    Mik,

I am a little confused from your report as to exactly what is happening here. 😕 (I cannot see your machine and can only diagnose from info given after all) 😉

So, first you said the on/off switch would not stay in! That indicates pretty conclusively to me that the switch is faulty…OK?

Now you say that the on/off switch works :con:

How can you be sure that it works fully? You may have just forced it to stay in, though that would not guarantee it is now working. ❗

So my conclusions so far has to be that the on/off switch is the fault whilst not ruling out the possibility that the door lock switch could be faulty. One more thought 💡 ….the door handle and door striker are operating correctly are they to ensure they locate into the door lock securely?

Fluff and muck generally caught between that chamber and the water reservoir.

Ah yes, now I remember you saying a while back now 🙂

Andy_art_trigg wrote:I mean, how much do you have to charge to fit a motor on a Hotpoint or Indesit – or PCB and Eeprom?

I quoted a landlord 2 weeks ago £190 to change Motor/Module/Stepper Timer as no way could I be sure as to the fault 😕

Quoting to fit the bl**dy lot was my only option otherwise I could be the loser due to “Merlonimisdiagnosis” (thats a virulent desease sweeping the service industry at the moment- by the way!) After all, Indesit engineers haven’t a clue and always throw parts at these lumps of tin and plastic every time. 🙄

I went to a machine (out of guarantee) last month where the lady had an army of different ‘Indesitters’ fixing her machine every other month whilst is was under guarantee. They left loads of unopened spares behind which she kept. When I told her the motor was shot she said “I’ll just get one from my stock then!” and she did, brand new motor unopened box. I fitting it….sorted :rotfl:

Should be available still under Part No : 899645146970 or you could simply switch the thermostat knob for the timer knob (as they are both the same knob, but you don’t pull the t/stat knob out 😉 )

That’s your problem then, the double pole on/off switch needs replacing (there are 2 different types fitted to that machine too, which may cause some difficulty with identification 😕 )

If you try Repairs@ we may have someone in your area that can sort it quickly and cheaply 💡

I guess the motor and module are not speaking to each other then 🙁

Its got to be a connection problem and that both ends of the wiring between the 2 need testing I’m afraid. 🙁
